Maine turns out to mean alot

Saturday, February 11th, 2012

Who would have thought Maine would have meant something in the GOP race. Every votes counts and every primary and caucus means something but Maine has taken on a added importance. Mitt Romney is hopeful to avoid a fourth straight election loss in the presidential nomination race. The problem is Ron Paul has been centered on Maine since Florida. Romney and his people have focused on Maine over the last few days as they are concerned about the outcome of what has become a two-man race in Maine. The good news is both Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, are actively competing in Maine. They have been voting all week in Maine and party officials plan to declare a winner the night of February eleven. Mitt and his people are so dialed in that just minutes after Paul left the Sanford caucus location Romney walked through the door. This has not been a good couple of weeks for Romney and proving that he is the right candidate for all of the GOP is a struggle and these setbacks are coming to shake the foundation. Paul has begun to use a strategy based on winning some of the smaller caucus contests where his passionate base of support can have an oversized impact. This means it is important for Paul as well because another loss here or worse a third place finish prove he is not relevant and more than likely will not make it to GOP’s national convention in August.

Time to move GOP west

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

Let us get ready for the next primaries as the contest move west. The Republican presidential campaign has a leader Mitt Romney fresh off the Florida primary victory and Newt Gingrich looking for a new start. There will be a caucuses in Nevada on Saturday. If you missed Ron Paul in Florida he was getting ready for caucuses because he feels that is his strength. This is because the nutty delegates for Paul drive everyone crazy they vote for him just to get away. Next Tuesday we get a double header of Minnesota and Colorado and them it is back across the country to Maine the following weekend. There is going to be a change in strategy, Newt went in Florida of a South Carolina win he pulled even with Mitt Romney and we felt that after Florida is could be Newt moving to clinch the nomination. Then something happened Newt went negative calling Mitt Romney names and making comparisons to President Obama. When mix in two terrible debate performances and a new Mitt Romney getting battle tested from being attacked looking stronger. When Sunday rolled around the polls were saying it was not even going to be close and a double digit win for Romney. There is a lesson here but we are not sure that Newt will be able to see or too proud to change.

Mitt Romney made $21M in 2010 without working

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

So when we told you that the lame streamer we going to pull out the old playbook on Mitt Romney it is clear that he saw it coming as well. One of the knocks on Mitt is he has been running for president for six years. This might be true and if that was the case he has thought of every angle. It should not have come as a surprise when he released his tax returns that it was more about the numbers then the rate. The facts are he made $21M in 2010, we will not get into his investments make as more money than the Yankees are paying Alex Rodriquez for a whole season. The two big numbers are he pays $3M in taxes and donated another $3M. This we say is going to be more than anyone else in the field but it still can draw ire. The number you will here is Mitt only pays 14.28% taxes. The bottom line is he is paying three million dollars which in most cases is more than 20 city blocks of taxpayers put together. Here is the other fun fact the lame streamers will not let you think about. To invest the money Mitt had to earn the money and to earn the money he paid taxes on it. None of this matter because all you are going to hear is Mitt only pay 14.28% and the average American pays close to 30%

A wild day for the GOP

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

Well not there has been a lack of news on the GOP side of the election season. Today will go down as a big day and one to be remembered. Rick Perry called it a day and in a stunning turn endorsed Newt Gingrich, in a take that Mitt moment. Then ABC scored an interview with the second Miss Gingrich and tell all interview that they have been leaking all day. The last big scoop is Iowa is no longer in the win column for Mitt Romney. We are not sure it matters and after Tuesday it may not matter at all. The problem is the bell has already rung and cannot be unheard so we are not sure if they decide in Iowa to change results it can affect the results from South Carolina and Florida. We also think the debate tonight could be a watershed for Newt as he can back his way into the race with a strong showing. The truth is all the candidates have been a little bloodied this week and no one has been without fault or risen above. We look forward to South Carolina results. The next few days will show it all and we would not it any other way.

Lame Steam media uses same old tick on Romney taxes

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

Here comes the lame steamers and democrats to confuse the issue. This is the best thing they do get a candidate from the GOP to say the truth then blew it up. Mitt Romney said he pays an effective federal tax rate of about 15 percent. That was the red meat they needed. We like to blew up the lame streamers and when they do not let facts get in the way of misleading votes. The problem is they want you to believe this is a bad thing the 15% compared to the average tax filer that pays 35%. The problem is the money Mitt is paying 15% on he already paid the 35% on as earnings. So the lefties would have him pay double taxes 35% when he earned it and 35% every year it paid him interest. Then we could go with the fact that when the money pays 15% on is more than most people will pay in a couple city blocks. This is what they do and there can never be enough people that poke holes in this washed up, tied, over used, hate on the rich people tactic. Just doing our part now you go out there and let everyone you know that have not fooled you.

Romney calls out Patrick

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Massachusetts has never been a place where politics was fair. The backroom has made more deals then the ballot box or the speaker of the house controlled congress. We totally understand why Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was sandbagged by current Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick who has been culling Intel for his buddy President Obama. Romney campaign manager Matt Rhoades has called him out on it as he sent a letter to the Patrick administration for being behind a leaking information that Romney efforts to leave no email records behind when he left office in 2007. The former Romney officials took their computers with them when they left their jobs and how Romney aides replaced email servers and computers before leaving office. The report said that 11 of Romney’s top aides purchased 17 state-issued computers for $65 each when they left their jobs. Several of Romney’s top aides in the governor’s office later worked for his 2008 presidential bid. There is nothing to see here as The Massachusetts public records law does not apply to the governor’s office, so there is nothing illegal with the Romney-era move. This is bad for Romney as they need to keep their eye on Patrick moving forward.

Mitt Romney goes Tea Party wild

Sunday, September 4th, 2011

Mitt Romney has been running for president for the last six years and he still has no traction. There has to be point when you realize you have reached the end of the rope. This will happen today and in the coming days. When the Tea Party Express rolled through Boston Mitt was no where to be found. Turns out enter Rick Perry and Mitt needs to find a happy medium. The Tea party is having a rally in New Hampshire for the tea party will have an appearance by Mitt. Then on Tuesday another Tea Party even with king maker Jim DeMint. These events all lead up to a debate where Mitt has to put it all on the table. The time has come for him to realize he is not what the GOP is looking for and a loss to President Obama would be at this point almost impossible except if the GOP chooses Mitt. This is harsh might be untrue but there has to be a reason he is not the one chosen and he lost to McCain last time. We like the idea or letting the Tea Party know you are for real and acknowledge they exist is a good start because the road to the white house is paved with tea boxes shattered and thrown into the river.

Romney embraces errors and keeps cash

Sunday, May 15th, 2011

We spoke yesterday in this space about how Senator Kohl was not going to run. We mentioned that one of the reason incumbents do not want to run is the cost of losing is not worth the gamble. We started to think could this by happening in the Mitt Romney camp. Try to follow along as we roll through the thoughts. Romney made a speech where he defended Romneycare, saying it was not like Obamacare. We all thought he was going to say it was a mistake but he did not. Then we have to question why and the only reason we can come up with is money. If the country gives Romney a pass and polls show he can win despite Romneycare everything is good to go. The truth is we are only in May of 2011 and if the polls hang Romneycare around his neck with no chance for escape or victory he has a plan B. Drop out before this things cost him another fortune. Mitt Romeny is going to run again like he did last time using his own cash, why bother if it is not in the cards. The play was to dump Romneycare as a plan with good intentions that fell short. He did not take that approach and it is a gamble that only cost public opinion but can save dollars.
