This week we highlight a new comer to the tea512 list, Danielle Nicole Panabaker. She was born September 19, 1987 in Augusta, Georgia and this Georgia peach is becoming hotter by the day. We first saw Danielle in the drama Shark, and Disney Channel Stuck in the Suburbs . She moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to act and go to school at UCLA. She has been in movies, television, commercials, TV movies, musical theatre, and a mini series. She came across our radar when she landed the lead role of Jenna in the remake of Friday the Thirteenth. We picked her for the woman of the week this week because she is in the horror movie The Crazies, which grossed over $16 million this weekend, the third highest gross of the weekend. She has done work on three other films to be released soon, The Ward, Renaissance Girl, and Weakness. We have noticed and at the hottie age of 22, we think she will be on the list a long time. She is also a great actress as you do not land these because you are just another pretty face and she does have a very pretty face. You need skills and lucky for us she has skills wrapped up in a great little package that is easy on the eyes and great for the script.

You can say what you want about Washington just not getting it over healthcare. But we might be starting to see a change in some of the old guard. This may not be true but the idea a supermajority is the way to hammer things through congress is just bad politics for reelection. We heard the rumblings that three key senators are writing a new climate bill which is different than cap’n’tax or as it called cap’n’trade. This is a new bill that aims to reduce carbon pollution and is being planned to roll out next month, the sponsors are Senator John Kerry, Lindsey Graham, and Joe Lieberman. We love this idea because like healthcare the cap-and-trade bill that passed the House almost a year ago remains President Barack Obama’s preferred approach as he pushes to cut the country’s emissions by 17 percent by 2020 to meet internationally agreed upon goals. We could file under President Obama you can’t always get what you want or you may never get anything you want. Lindsey Graham has been quoted saying that cap-and-trade is dead and this new approach will have a chance. The three major emission sources: electric utilities, transportation and industry would have to meet an overall emissions cap that would grow stricter over time. A carbon tax could be levied on motor fuel. And industrial facilities would be exempted from an emissions cap for several years, before it would be phased in. This is a step that if Washington wants to get anything done listening to the American outrage is starting to be heard. We are not sure if it is the fact the politicians are scared to lose their job or care what constitutes say, but either way America wins.

We were really excited about the 112 congress we though for the first time in our lives it was going to be Kennedy free. First Scott Brown replaced Ted Kennedy claiming that seat. We thought there was going to be a scare that Joe Kennedy would run to the rescue the family name. He never did and we hoped that with the senate clear the House was the only place a Kennedy renamed. Then the runt of the litter or the runt of the litter Patrick “Patches” Kennedy decided not to run as it looked like he was going to lose anyway. It was to good to be true and now we found out there is rumor circulating that one of Robert F. Kennedy’s grandsons is considering a run for the U.S. House of Representatives. Joseph P. Kennedy III, one of the twin sons of former Rep. Joseph P. Kennedy II. This is because the current seat holder Democratic Representative William Delahunt is looking like a lame duck down the stretch. Then when Amy Bishop killed three more people in Alabama the blood of those people lies on the hands of the then AG Delahunt who gave her a pass. We know if the boy runs he will be tough to beat, not because he is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School or his work as a prosecutor. The big reason will be then need to put a Kennedy back in congress after the mistake of Martha Coakley. It would be a shame if we could not get at least on term since 1946 without a Kennedy for representation of Massachusetts we have come so far and to lose it all because of this would be shame.

The House ethics committee is trying to nail Representative Charles Rangel down for a change. This time it seems they have a smoking gun except Rangel has become professional at avoided their grasp. This time the proof is Representative Charles Rangel aides tried at least three times to show him that his Caribbean trips had corporate sponsors, but of course he denies that he has ever seen or heard these written communications. The Ways and Means Committee chairman says he did nothing wrong because his staff never told him about corporate sponsors. There is two staff memos dated from 2008 and a letter addressed to him in 2007. Rangel has been accused of violating rules governing gifts that lawmakers can accept. Rangel will not step down as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee despite being admonished for violating rules by letting corporations pay for his Caribbean trips. Rangel has excelled at deny and see what you need to see as he claimed today that the ethics report exonerates him because it says there is no evidence that he knew the trips were sponsored by corporations. The noose is getting tighter as even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is trying to steer clear, you cannot blame her as Rangel remains under investigation on various other alleged ethics lapses. Is there any wonder there is such a ground swell to remove all incumbents as Washington is broken and Rangel is a poster child.

Everyone who reads the tea512 knows we love a good election. There is a beauty on the radar in the lone star state. The reason is it is a Republican showdown; one that they say has been on target to happen for years. This election is between two of the biggest Texas politicians currently serving the state. This match is between Governor Rick Perry and Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and as the days get closer to November it is getting nasty. There is a democrat as it looks like former Houston Mayor Bill White but after all this is Texas. This GOP primary fight that Perry once promised would be brutal has grown meaner in its final weeks. They have beat up each other with Hutchison attacking the Perry record over the last nine years as governor. Perry is slamming Hutchinson over the fact she is all that is wrong with Washington spending the last 16 years in the U.S. Senate. Perry has never lost a public election and has painted Hutchison as a moderate. The local polling numbers show that Perry is leading with 45 percent to 29 percent. The big showdown is Tuesday March 2, 2010. Hutchinson has not campaigned much in Texas as she has been letting everyone know she stayed in Washington to fight President Barack Obama’s health care bill. The only thing we do not like about Hutchinson who once received over 4 million votes, is she is holding both seats so to speak. She will not resign her senate seat until after the primary on next Tuesday she will be out campaigning hard all over Texas this weekend as she dropped in today and loaded up the bus tour. The most interesting thing is that she wants to leave the Senate to be a Governor which other than California might be the only state where this is attractive.

Remember the good old days when President Bush would talk about the patriot act and congress claimed VP Dick Chaney was listening to peoples phone calls. Remember when President Obama said it needed to be looked at and retooled. The Senate voted Wednesday to extend for a year key provisions of the nation’s counterterrorism surveillance law that are scheduled to expire at the end of the month. This was even approved on a voice vote with no debate. The big issues that would expire if this does not pass are authorizing court-approved roving wiretaps that permit surveillance on multiple phones. Court-approved seizure of records and property in anti-terrorism operations and the permission of surveillance against lone wolf, a non-U.S. citizen suspected of engaging in terrorism who may not be part of a recognized terrorist group. The democrats did try to stuff some new privacy protections into the law. The Judiciary Committee wanted to make some changes but in the end it was easier to pass as is, this is why there was no debate. We wonder when this President is going to make good on any of those promises he made to people to get their votes. If this was a Republican president he would have been badgered everyday why he said he was going to do one thing to get elected and completely another once in office.

The tragedy that was the halftime show of the 2004 Super Bowl game is back in the news. This was a show put on by MTV productions and starred Janet Jackson and Justine Timberlake. The infamous finale of the JT song Rock Your Body came to close with Justin exposing Janet Jackson’s 40 year old breast to the world. A Philadelphia federal appeals court will re-examine the FCC fine it threw out against CBS over Janet Jackson’s what came to be known as a wardrobe malfunction. It is now in front of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia to consider whether the FCC’s $550,000 fine for CBS is permissible. The U.S. Supreme Court last year directed the lower court to consider reinstating the fine, following a ruling in another case that said the FCC could threaten fines even for fleeting profanity. The lower court threw out the fine in 2008, saying the FCC acted arbitrarily and capriciously in issuing the fine for the half-second of nudity. Six years later and CBS still have not had to pay a fine, the lawyers and the courtrooms keep spinning and there is no end in sight. The biggest crime is the fallout the NFL has produced the lamest halftime shows and each year the artists are getting older and worse. Since 2004 we have seen Paul McCartney, followed up by the Rolling Stones in 2006. We watched the Purple Rain as 2007 was Prince and 2008 brought Tom Petty and Heartbreakers out of moth balls. In 2009 Bruce Springsteen and last month we got The Who. We think that there have been six years of halftime shows that have been a complete waste of time by old time musicians who best days have long since past. This is the penalty we have endured since Janet popped out and the halftime show went into the tank. Someone needs to pay.

This week we highlight as the Women of the week Hayden Leslie Panettiere. She is no stranger to the list as she was #20 in 2008 and #16 in 2009. She was born in Palisades, Rockland County, New York on August 21, 1989. We placed her on the list this week because she appeared on our newsstand on the cover of the new issue of Self magazine. She has had a real good run since we last highlighter her as her show Heroes is still killing in the ratings on Monday nights. She starred and carried the movie I Love You Beth Cooper and has kept her life from finding bad press. She will turn 21 this year and we are pretty sure she will be higher in ranking at the end of the year. This year we will see her in three new movie roles. The films all out in 2010 are titled Hoodwinked 2, Alpha and Omega, and Carmel. She is extremely cute and sexy. Hayden has kept her life out of the tabloids which makes her pure image even hotter. We think she is going to be around for a long time as has come along way since Remember the Titans.

Paterson has only been in charge since March of 2008 as he placed into the job after Eliot Spitzer resigned. This makes Paterson the first Democrat in the race, but he will have plenty of competition. Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is one that is rumored to be in the running. This could happen to good candidates not ones that chief of staff admitted not paying income taxes for five years and ultimately resigned and totally mishandled the replacement of the U.S. Senate seat by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. When he pushed Caroline Kennedy then cut her at the knees. Democrats had the power in the Senate, and Paterson was unable to broker any good will to get things done. So far the only Republican candidate is Congressman Rick Lazio who lost this seat to Clinton. It is odd that his tea leaves have told him incumbents are going to pay. Patterson has only about $3 million and campaign donations could be slow as he is not endorsed by the White House. That has not turned out well the last three times anyway. It is going to be an interesting spring as we watch who thinks they should fight for their job and who should just fade away. We believe this is one that should just fade away. We are not sure this is a bad job by handlers or a naive sense that it cannot happen to me.

We thought after five episodes we would chime in on the Starz original series Spartacus original series on Starz. There is nothing new here as this show seems the take the ideas from Rome the HBO series, Gladiator the movie and the movie 300. The first thing you will notice when watch is the violence is in your face. The next thing is that when blood does spill it flows and splashes like Kool Aid all over the place. The main character is Andy Whitfield who plays Spartacus and is tough to get a read on. There is plenty of skin and sexual escapades for eye candy as well as all the violence wrapped up in each hour show. The sets are not as grandiose as the HBO series Rome although it steals a lot of the politics of class struggles. The violence is very graphic novelized like the 300, pushing the envelope as each week goes by. The real script stealing is from Gladiator and so far the plot has been a mirror of the movie with a main character from which he has been separated from wife sold into slavery and must fight for his freedom as a Gladiator. We do like it so far as it is adventurous, violent, and sexy. The dynamic between married characters Lucretia played by Lucy Lawless and Batiatus played by John Hannah has been stealing the show for us so far. We wonder if it can make it as it is only on Starz but at least we will keep watching.

President Barack Obama is heading out west to help and is hopeful not to hinder two vulnerable senators including Majority Leader Harry Reid Las Vegas and Michael Bennet of Colorado. It was only a month ago he flew into Boston to save Martha Coakley and she lost. Five months before he helped politicians in Virginia and New Jersey lose. Since he is zero for three on the east coast he thought maybe the west is the best. He is not going ot find a more democratic state than Massachusetts and both New Jersey and Virginia were state were he had easy victories in his presidential run only one year earlier. President Obama is going to Denver to raise money and speak up for Democratic Senator Bennet. The only reason Bennet, is in the Senate is because President Obama tapped, Ken Salazar, to be the secretary of the Interior Then next up President Obama will end up in Las Vegas for another Democratic fundraiser. He will also hold a town hall meeting with business and community leaders in Sin City. The anti-incumbency mood seems to be the highlight of the midterm election season. The other part is the taxpayers will pay almost all the huge costs associated with travel. This is the reason the White House makes at least one official event with the political ones. This is even more insane for President Obama as twice he told Americans not to spend money wastefully in hard times and cited Las Vegas as an example of a spending waste when you have no money.

Can the republicans use the televised health care summit next week to their advantage? We thought this appears to be a trap as the president will be running the show and use it as a tool to show Republicans are not willing to compromise. The administration will focus on covering 30 million people while the Republican plan only covers around 3million. This could work in the Republicans favor as skyrocketing deficits, adding more might not sit well with an already angry populous. The Republicans will counter with reining in the rising medical costs is the start and not blanket coverage. The first of its kind in year’s half-day event will happen on February 25. The president will moderate the forum, as he picked the location the Blair House guest residence area of the White House. Republicans are only after what they believe America wants, for the Democrats to scrap their existing bills and start over. We expect to see on the Republican side House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, each are allowed four members each. There is no clear cut plan from the Republicans and President Obama wants the Democrats plan online before the summit. We believe the Republicans can make hay here, the can hammer the democrats on not being involved in the process, back room deals, and the up-down votes are what killed the bill. Those are reasons enough to blame the Democrats and stay on the offensive. They cannot attack the President because he has no plan; he wanted this bill but gave the country nothing on paper. The fight is what the Democrats came up with when left to their own devices.

President Obama has a request from a woman who is serving a 27-year prison term for a crack cocaine conspiracy. She would like President Barack Obama to use his power of forgiveness for the first time since taking office to commute her sentence. Stephanie Lomax who now has a prison name of Hamedah Hasan has two federal judges admit she should have gotten only 12 years at most but federal law dictates that crack crimes carry stronger sentences than those involving powder cocaine. This is a double shot of trouble for the president. The presidential power in the Constitution allows him to shorten her sentence as well as address the disproportion in prison terms for crack and powder cocaine. This is job for congress and it is tricky waters for a president to side step congress on this kind of issue. The states on this kind of action are as follows Clinton pardoned 396 people and shortened the sentences of 61. Bush pardoned 189 people and commuted sentences for 11. The truth of the matter is Lomax was convicted in 1993 a multistate conspiracy to deal crack cocaine. She received a life sentence that was shortened to 27 years. This does not seem like an issue President Obama can get behind, she will be released in 2020 if he does nothing. If she has her sentence reduced to twelve years she would have already served 17 and might sue for having spent an extra five years behind bars. This is a test President Obama needs to step away and let legislatures do their job.

We tell you one of the hardest things to do is pick a dentist for a whole family. Finding a family-friendly dental practice that has all the needs of a family is very difficult. We have had to choose between an Austin Orthodontist a big chain dentist, a small family practice, or a one dentist shop. The problem is finding one that does everything you need. Everyone is at different stages of needing a dentist. Older people are ready to get fitted for false teeth, middle age people are looking for cleaning and replacements, while small children need straightening and braces. There are also many types of sedation that need to be considered as some family members need more than Novocain or cannot have Novocain at all. It is really hard to find someone you trust that can fit the needs of a whole family.

She is famous for her work on TRL and as a TV host for reality shows on VH1 and MTV. This weekend she made news when sent out Valentine Heart invitation to her wedding. She is marrying basketball star Carmelo Anthony on July 10, 2010. This was pretty slow week and weekend for pretty woman news. The big movie was Valentines Day but nobody stood out. We came across this La La story and remember how hot she was. Since she never made the list before we though it was a great time add her. We have not seen her since she was a judge on Charm School with Ricki Lake in 2009. LaLa is thick as a brick and hot as a pistol. We did not know she was in the movie Two can play that game as LaLa the DJ and in 2002 she had a role in Urban Massacre as Pam Jackson. She was always on of our favorites on her run at TRL. She is smoking hot and deserves her place among the other woman of the week.
