Politics always a shuffle

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

When you look at politics on a whole it does make you wonder sometimes. There is always something that breaks across party lines and this frustrating but does make sense. Then there are the other things that puzzle the imagination on so many levels, which transcend politics. This is one of those things the debate coach who worked with Mitt Romney is no longer with the campaign. This makes no sense of course because we just watched two better performances in Florida so you would think that guy is a lock to stay on the Republican’s presidential campaign. Yu have done really well lately so hit the bricks Brett O’Donnell, he was the same person that coached 2008 nominee John McCain. This would have been a reason not to hire him but no reason was given why the end has come at this time. Bad luck is following O’Donnell as he also coached congress woman Michele Bachmann until she dropped out of the race. Really crazy as those debates in Tampa and Jacksonville key to the Romney win over Newt Gingrich in the Florida primary.

9/11 Ten Years Later

Sunday, September 11th, 2011

It is another day in America and the sun will rise and fall. No it is not another day in America it is September eleventh. A day that is linked to tragedy just like December seventh as a day that America was attacked. This day is special as it is ten years to the day and New York, Washington and Pennsylvania have made sure it is not lost. The morning was full of tributes both solemn and uplifting. Hometowns across the US are also making sure that we never forget what happened and who perished. We have watched a lot of Rescue Me and the show centers around firefighters, first responders and police that were either left behind or left to deal with the damage. When the people share their loss as they walk to the podium to say goodbye one more time you start to see just how massive the hole is, that is not just where the building stood. We did know that of the 3000 that died that over 10% were fireman who ran into a building that was not only on fire 100 floors above them with the wreckage of a jumbo jet above their heads. We never understood the role of a firefighter but on that day ten years ago it became crystal clear what they do and how special they are. Where ever you are today it will be hard to find yourself remembering exactly where you were but for the people that walked to the podium at the monument today never can get past the ultimate sacrifice they gave for our freedom.
