This week we celebrate movie and television actress Katherine Marie Heigl she was born on born November 24, 1978 in Washington D.C and grew up in New Canaan, CT. She was last year’s #14 and #12 in 2010. Katherine has been on the countdown all four years as she was #6 in 2009, and she was #5 the first year of 2008. We picked her this week because her movie One for the Money opened at the number three slot pulling 11.5M. This is pretty good and a testament to her star power at the box office. Katherine has come a long since she exploded on the scene in 2005 with her role on Grey’s Anatomy and the same year received a Golden Globe nomination for the movie Side Effects. Then in 2007 she won an Emmy award for her role on Grey’s Anatomy. We have always thought highly of Katherine and what makes her a star is she that can do all genres with ease including comedy, horror, and drama. She has dropped each year but still has a sparkling smile to go along with her beautiful looks. It is hard to keep your focus while she is on the screen it is easy to see why she is a favorite.
My kids have been begging me forever to go towww.SatelliteTVFamily.com and look into getting us TLC. I don’t know why in the world they like the channels so much but that new show, Extreme Couponing, is like their favorite thing in the world. I don’t understand why they get so much enjoyment out of watching people save money because they are too young to even have their own jobs but they have both gotten really into coupons and now they make me get the Sunday paper every weekend so I can cut out coupons and save the family money. I guess it’s not the worst thing in the world to have kids who think it’s important to not waste but sometimes it’s more difficult to work around their needs and wants than to just go to the grocery store and get what we need. I love my children but sometimes they get so obsessed with something that’s so impractical for children to be into, and I never know what to do about it.
In the classic case of saying it is my ball play my way or going home stepping to the front of the stage President Barack Obama. President Barack Obama wants to change the way the Senate does business. Claiming there is too much partisan gridlock. This is the only way he can propose and get the government reforms he asked for in the state of the union address. Things like the Senate to pass a rule that requires a yes-or-no vote for judicial and public service nominations after 90 days. The problem with all of this is it his party and he own the senate. it like looking for a free limo rental where the only have limos. They have the majority and should be able to pass anything they want. This means he has had control of three branches of government his first two years and at least two for three years. We still hear him complaining he cannot get anything done with congress. What more can he ask for we dare say President Bush accomplished more with Nancy Pelosi running the House and Harry Reid running the senate than when the leader from the same party is in control. The wish list also includes Congress to pass legislation to ban insider trading and to prohibit people who “bundle” campaign contributions from other donors for members of Congress from lobbying Congress. New alert to leader of the free world you are in charge of the senate and your guy Vice President Joe Biden holds the tie breaker. Maybe if they do not move on your ideas because they are just bad ideas and you do not know what you are talking about.
We wrote a post a while back about getting an endorsement you really do not want. This has come up again in the Gingrich camp. Based on where he stands we suppose anyone who says they are on your side is good. We do not think an endorsement form Herman Cain is worth a news release and at this point it might have been better if he just stayed away. The reason Cain dropped out was he could not keep his hands to himself around ladies and it seems Newt has a wondering eye as well. Gingrich is committed to the race and it looks like it could be another disappointment on Tuesday when the big 99 delegates from the Florida primary do not end up in his basket. Newt Gingrich pledged once again to stay in the nominating race until the Republican convention in Tampa in August and still expects to win the nomination. Really there is one thing else he can say but we believe that after a loss in Florida and the mounting states he is not on the ballot it will seal his fate. The only reason to keep him in the race is so we do not have to watch Romney debate Paul. Santorum has been the walking dead and really the “none of the above” choice on the ballot.
It is clear the lame streamers and lefties want to know how the other half live. The GOP debate on CNN, moderated by Wolf Blitzer, was viewed by 5.36 million total viewers. The University of North Florida in Jacksonville was watched by more people than the January 19th and November 22nd efforts for the lefties to create havoc for the GOP. The December 10 debate on ABC is still the highest viewed with 7.6 million. If you are keeping track this was the 19th GOP debate of this primary cycle which is getting a little long in the tooth. The only good coming from it is that it is making mitt Romney more battle ready. A concern is that when Romney is pressed in a debate he is not fast on his feet with his scripted answers and we hope this training will make him a formable opponent for President Obama. The end of the day no matter whom it is we are worried about the independents given the GOP another chance at the big chair. We wonder why CNN has televised six of these debates so far the most of any of the nets. Fox you would expect has done four will CBS has only done one. CBS does not need to stop any of their programming as people watch their shows as opposed to NBC who did the January 23rd debate and had 7.1 million people watch which is more than watch anything on that network that is not a football game.
We took the family truckster on the drive of its life. The transmission will never be the same. We drove up to the top of Mount Washington by car. We used our car after it was cleared to take the trip. There are plenty of rules that make a lot of cars not able to get the green light. If you have not driven up the mountain and have been to New England it will not be long before you see a car that has. They all get a special bumper sticker saying the car climbed the mountain. We went up as a family of four and it cost us $43 we are not sure about how they arrived at the cost. You will love this trip. You do not need to take a cash advance or a shopping cart full of money to have fun. You feel like you are driving up to the skies and a stunning vista are around every corner as you climb. They see these views change every day and no trip up the mountain is the same. This is a 6,288-foot climb to the peak. When you get to the top bring a jacket as it does not matter the temperature on the ground. At the peak there is strong winds, fog and rapidly moving clouds. This was a great time had for all except the transmission.
This post brought to you by Contest Factory. All opinions are 100% mine.

So when we told you that the lame streamer we going to pull out the old playbook on Mitt Romney it is clear that he saw it coming as well. One of the knocks on Mitt is he has been running for president for six years. This might be true and if that was the case he has thought of every angle. It should not have come as a surprise when he released his tax returns that it was more about the numbers then the rate. The facts are he made $21M in 2010, we will not get into his investments make as more money than the Yankees are paying Alex Rodriquez for a whole season. The two big numbers are he pays $3M in taxes and donated another $3M. This we say is going to be more than anyone else in the field but it still can draw ire. The number you will here is Mitt only pays 14.28% taxes. The bottom line is he is paying three million dollars which in most cases is more than 20 city blocks of taxpayers put together. Here is the other fun fact the lame streamers will not let you think about. To invest the money Mitt had to earn the money and to earn the money he paid taxes on it. None of this matter because all you are going to hear is Mitt only pay 14.28% and the average American pays close to 30%
This week we highlight last year’s number 38 on the top 51 list, that honor went to Emmanuelle Grey “Emmy” Rossum. Emmy was born September 12, 1986 in New York City , New York. She jumped onto the list last year and gets an early week of her own due to her Showtime series returning, the gritty dramodey Shameless. We have always been taken by her long legs and the cold awesome stare from her beautiful dark eyes on screen can melt anyone. She is truly captivating not only as a real beauty, but so full of raw talent that you find her extremely likable on screen even when she is being bad. The bonus this year and why she gets a week so soon, she returned to the show as is naked on screen. Emmy spent the first season always running around in little halters and panties changing in and out of clothes on screen that was very sexy. This season the first episode right out of the gate she is not only in a sex but she exposed her beautiful body for the first time. This means it is going to be a good year for Shameless as without a boyfriend she is playing fast and loose and out all night up to no good. We first heard of her in the movies Mystic River and The Day After Tomorrow, and she first starred in a Songcatcher, An American Rhapsody and Passionada.
Careful what you wish for might be the new slogan of the GOP. Since we have pulled one victory, Iowa away from Mitt Romney South Carolina was another slap in the face. Maybe it is a wakeup call or a cold dose of reality. Everyone know the problems Mitt is to vanilla but Newt is unlikable. There might be a good argument that no female is going to vote for Newt. When you like as his likable number it is 27% and his dislike number is over 60%. This manes nationwide he does not stand a chance and if he grabs Florida and 99 delegates we could be starring right down the barrel of a broken convention, an un electable candidate and a double digit loss to the current President unleashing four more years or pain and suffering on the working class. It is not all doom and gloom after all it is only South Carolina, we said the same thing after New Hampshire and Iowa, but after three times you would hope for clarity. Maybe a two person race like Hillary and Barack in 2008, but this is turning out to be more of a mess than a success and the stakes could not be higher. Florida will tell a story but hopefully it is a next chapter and not a whole new book.
American Idol Season 11 dropped this week and as much as they say fresh it really is the same old thing. The problem is America cannot get enough. The first two nights averaged 18 million people during the first three hours. The first two locations Savanah and Pittsburgh were new locations but people travel far and wide for their shot. We have noticed that the amount of bad singers has dropped at least in the beginning. It seemed in years past the over the top performers, the outlandish costumes and bad singers were highlighted more than anyone with talent. This turns out to be opposite were they sent a little more than 70 people to Hollywood with the famous golden ticket and we heard a lot of those auditions. They have added a video blog reel of the upcoming people to audition as they wait in line, make the commute, and film a package. The show is still crisp, sharp, appealing and does not mess with the success. The proof is in the ratings as even a low number of 18 million down from last year is double the finale ratings for the X Factor. You know you have a winner when week one auditions are double the newest thing on your network. This will heat up after the Super Bowl as The Voice returns and giving three nights a week to have never heard from again sing to you might be asking a lot. We know they will be pushing the latest apps, cash for gold, mobile marketing, and Coke, but that is also part of the charm.
Sometimes you wonder how things wind up at the highest court in the land. You grow up with the term fighting all the way to the Supreme Court. Then one day they release a ruling and you wonder how it could get that far. Today was that day as the Supreme Court threw out electoral maps drawn by federal judges in Texas that favored minorities? The thing about this is that the unsigned opinion leaves the fate of Texas primaries in April unclear. The three-judge court in San Antonio was told to come up with new plans that pay more attention to maps created by the Texas state Legislature. The reason this is here is the democrats know that this outcomes means that all four of the state’s new congressional seats, which could mean control of the House of Representative, hangs in the balance. They are instructed that the judges must stick more closely to what the Legislature did. The results of the 2010 census found that Texas had added more than 4 million new residents. Republicans now represent 23 of the 32 current districts. The complicated legal fight over redistricting in Texas is playing out in three federal court The Supreme Court, the Federal court in San Antonio, and a three-judge court in Washington. The bottom line is this is now too late to change and they must go with what they have for the primaries. Tweet
Well not there has been a lack of news on the GOP side of the election season. Today will go down as a big day and one to be remembered. Rick Perry called it a day and in a stunning turn endorsed Newt Gingrich, in a take that Mitt moment. Then ABC scored an interview with the second Miss Gingrich and tell all interview that they have been leaking all day. The last big scoop is Iowa is no longer in the win column for Mitt Romney. We are not sure it matters and after Tuesday it may not matter at all. The problem is the bell has already rung and cannot be unheard so we are not sure if they decide in Iowa to change results it can affect the results from South Carolina and Florida. We also think the debate tonight could be a watershed for Newt as he can back his way into the race with a strong showing. The truth is all the candidates have been a little bloodied this week and no one has been without fault or risen above. We look forward to South Carolina results. The next few days will show it all and we would not it any other way. Tweet
Here is the game plan any why President Obama reelection seems like a slam dunk. The case in point is the decision by the Obama administration to reject Keystone XL pipeline. The reason is because the 60-day deadline imposed by Republicans did not allow adequate time to review an alternate route through an ecologically sensitive area in Nebraska. We do not care about the rejection it would mean more jobs through half the country but this president has shown no sign of wanting to create jobs. The problem and the lame streamers are going to make it happen, is everything is the GOP and congresses fault, no matter how ridiculous. The general public is going to believe it because congress has a approval rating lower than some third world dictators. The project that would carry oil from Canada’s carbon-heavy tar sands to refineries on the Gulf Coast. TransCanada, the company seeking to build the $7 billion, 1,700-mile pipeline, will now needs to reapply with a new route avoiding an ecologically sensitive area of Nebraska. The decision for the rejection cannot be characterized any other way than thousands of American jobs left of the table purely for political reasons. It is too bad the truth about why things are done can never be a sound bite, America does not have the attention to follow the ball on this one and it pretty much says it all.
Here comes the lame steamers and democrats to confuse the issue. This is the best thing they do get a candidate from the GOP to say the truth then blew it up. Mitt Romney said he pays an effective federal tax rate of about 15 percent. That was the red meat they needed. We like to blew up the lame streamers and when they do not let facts get in the way of misleading votes. The problem is they want you to believe this is a bad thing the 15% compared to the average tax filer that pays 35%. The problem is the money Mitt is paying 15% on he already paid the 35% on as earnings. So the lefties would have him pay double taxes 35% when he earned it and 35% every year it paid him interest. Then we could go with the fact that when the money pays 15% on is more than most people will pay in a couple city blocks. This is what they do and there can never be enough people that poke holes in this washed up, tied, over used, hate on the rich people tactic. Just doing our part now you go out there and let everyone you know that have not fooled you.
This week we last year #6 on our top51 of the year. Charlize Theron who was born in Benoni, South Africa on August 7, 1975 is the first women of the week in 2012. She is a four time member of the including the first number one back in 2008. Charlize has had a week every year and in 2010 she was #3, 2009came in at #2. We love her as she is an actress, film producer, and a former fashion model she also became an American citizen in 2007. She has won an Oscar as for Best Actress from the Academy Awards for her role in Monster. The first woman of the week usually comes from the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards and if you saw the show Charlize killed it. She only did one movie in 2011 Young Adult but has two slated for 2012. Charlize is going to play Queen Ravenna in Snow White and the Huntsman. She is also slated to play Meredith Vickers in Prometheus. Charlize is beautiful and is a Hollywood star on the red carpet, at photo shoots, and in the movies. If you have ever seen her interviewed she also is very down to earth and seems like a fun person to be around. This is a rare quality for anyone in Hollywood and it is just a perception but it is one of the reasons she is always high on our list. Tweet
We know the lame stream media want the Solyndra thing to go away. First it makes their hero President Obama look bad and it makes clean energy look like a money grab. Everyone know it and even the White House did as just a few days before the 2010 mid-term elections, the White House knew that things were going very badly for taxpayer-backed solar-panel firm Solyndra, newly released internal emails show. The release of these emails to congress has been slow but it is clear on October 27, 2010, to the then-director of energy and climate change policy Heather Zichal reported the news to President Obama. “Here’s the deal, Solyndra is going to announce they are laying off 200 of their 1200 workers. No es bueno,” aide Heather Zichal wrote. It was less than eleven months later the company filed for bankrupty, triggering the congressional probes into why nearly $530 million was loaned to the company which exhibited problems early on. The bigger problem is did the White House tell Solyndra’s to delay the announcement until after the election. The thing just seems inappropriate all over the place from the Solyndra loan was tainted by stimulus politics from the outset, layoffs delayed until after the 2010 elections, and an indefensible loan restructuring, all of which has left taxpayers on the hook for half a billion dollars. The lame stream wants to hide it but we are not going to let that happen. Tweet
Thoughts and ideas usually do not win elections, money does. There is no better example than this year’s GOP race. Mitt Romney is becoming the favorite not because of his ideas but because he has enough money and media support to become a front runner. Once this happens all the ideas get swept aside as no one wants to vote for a loser. The good news is Republican National Committee says it raised $27 million in the last three months of 2011. This great news because the GOP does not even have a candidate yet but we have a vision we need to remove the occupier of the White House. The fourth-quarter figures were bolstered by $11.6 million in contributions in December. Since the “super PACs money does not count and we know they exist there is also another pile of millions of dollars raised by those independent political groups. The problem as we have said since the summer that President Obama looked to raise one billion and we are thankful that is just a dream at this point. The problem the Democratic National Committee raised slightly just under $24 million during the same time period. That figure does not include an additional $42 million in donations to straight to the reelect Obama campaign.
We are not sure anyone in the GOP field can win in 2012. We are happy that the news for the current administration cannot be filtered for pretend. If you believe the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago as they claim the drop in the unemployment rate to 8.5 percent may be partially reversed in coming months. the forecast is that by the end of the year, it is going to be very different from 8.5 percent unemployment. This comes as the Fed policy makers will discuss at their Jan. 24-25 meeting in Washington whether more steps are needed to bolster an expanding US economy. The hard numbers are employers last year added 1.64 million workers, the best year for the American worker since 2006. Even with the gain, little headway has been made in recovering the 8.75 million jobs lost. The Labor Department posted the unemployment rate dropped to 8.5 percent, down from 8.7 percent in November, 8.9 percent in October and 9.4 percent in December 2010. The reason the Fed does not share a rosy outlook that things are on the mend is history. The fear facing the economy that could cause growth to slow, as happened in the summer of 2010 and 2011 may return and be a new part of the work cycles.
This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.
We wanted to let you know about Walgreens and Express Scripts. has decided that Walgreens will no longer be in it their network and as you can imagine this has upset thousands of customers. This means as of 1/1/12 all Walgreens pharmacies nationwide are shut off from the Express Scripts Inc. program. This includes Tricare, which is the health and prescription drug program for America?s military service men and women. Walgreens wants to help support and serve the troops but their hands are tied. Only patients with certain prescription insurance plans managed by Express Scripts are impacted so it is best to check with your local Walgreens pharmacist to find out for sure if you are impacted. Patients covered by an Express Scripts plan now find themselves not only having to change their pharmacists, but many have to drive farther to get prescriptions. Many patients under an Express Scripts plan have used Walgreens pharmacies for years and have a personal relationship with their Walgreens pharmacist. This is one of those times something needs to be don and social media might be the best resource, if you are upset about not being able to use Walgreens to contact their local media and voice your anger, Tweet it, FaceBook it, and even Yelp about it. Walgreens is trying to help by looking to minimize the disruption. They are offering a special discount on annual membership for its Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens. An individual can join during a special January promotion for only $5, or $10 for a family membership, and receive savings on more than 8,000 brand name and all generic medications. More than 400 generics are available with a three-month supply for less than $1 a week. Regular annual membership is $20 for an individual and $35 for a family. Support Walgreens and stay updated by liking Walgreens on Facebook and following them at Walgreens on Twitter @Walgreens. This is not fair and your voice must be heard.
