You sometimes have to wonder at what cost is making everything so cut and dry. You cannot please everyone and if there is a little wiggle room it should be used. This is the case of the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia. They have decided that a memorial bust of Soviet dictator Josef Stalin was needed next to the busts of Presidents Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill Western Allied leaders in World War II. The climatic D-Day battle on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944 was an epic allied invasion. Stalin, who only teamed up with the West after Hitler betrayed him, didn’t send one Russian soldier to that battle, this is all they really need to say. It is embarrassing to prop up Stalin in the United States his murderous rule led to the deaths of at least 20 million people. We have watched and applauded as Statues of Stalin have been torn down all over Europe, this has even happened in the Soviet Union. The foundation justification is Stalin is a part of the war’s history, and his actions should be remembered. They believe the foundation has a responsibility to serve as a catalyst for serious discourse regarding key historical figures and their actions as they relate to the D-Day story and World War II. Sometimes omissions to history are meant more for punishment instead of praise, this should have been one of those situations.

The great news we can report today is Republicans are out raising Democrats in nearly a dozen open Senate races. Some Democrats are so far behind they me already ne out of time. Ohio Republican nominee Rob Portman has $8.8 million compared to the $1 million raised by Democrat Lee Fisher. Just because they have more money does not mean they will win but if the GOP can win ten seats they could seize control of the Senate. Illinois, Republican Mark Kirk raised $2.3 million, while Democrat Alexi Giannoulias raised about $900,000. Indiana, Republican Dan Coats raised more than $1 million in the quarter, while Democrat Brad Ellsworth took in about $600,000. Connecticut. Former pro wrestling magnate Linda McMahon has poured $21.5 million into her campaign; she reported having $3.2 million. Her Democratic opponent, state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, had only $2.1 million in cash Pennsylvania, Republican Pat Toomey raised $7.6 million while Democratic nominee Joe Sestak, has only $3.9 million. Democrats might have California, as Senator Barbara Boxer has an early fundraising lead over her GOP challenger, Carly Fiorina raising $15.9 million. Fiorina is a multimillionaire so she can pour huge amounts of her own money into the election. The other big one is Nevada, where Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid had $9 million at the quarter’s end. This is compared to $1.8 million for Republican challenger Sharron Angle who did raise an impressive $2.3 million from late May to June 30. In Missouri, Republican Roy Blunt raised $6.7 million and Democrat Robin Carnahan raised $5.1. In Delaware, Republican Mike Castle raised $2.6 million way ahead of Democrat Chris Coons with only one million so far. These are all number but in the end on November second we only need 10 to win.

This President is by far the weakest on foreign relations we have had in years, maybe my lifetime. President Obama wants to be everyone friend so he has trouble standing for anyone. We remember when he said unequivocally that Sudan must do more to fight terror and improve human rights. If they did, they would be rewarded. If not, it would be punished that was in October. So now, nine months later and the Sudan is worse. Where has the punishment for wrongdoing been, nowhere but when ever President Obama lashes out he feels bad so he has done some holding out the olive branch with conciliatory gestures expanded visa services for Sudanese citizens and they even sent a low-level representative to President Omar al-Bashir’s inauguration. On Monday President Omar al-Bashir, was charged in an International Court with genocide, last year it was war crime charges. The International Court says Militias backed by his government are accused of slaughtering civilians in the Darfur region in a conflict that has killed an estimated 300,000 people. If you listen to the White House, they claim there have been signs of progress in Sudan despite a recent rise in violence in Darfur and a crackdown on opposition by the government. The administration needed to be out in front of the court so in an issued statement on Friday, together with Norway and the United Kingdom, they criticizing Sudan for worsening human rights violations throughout the country and for breaking cease-fires in Darfur, noting its use of aerial bombardment and the deployment of local militias. This President maybe able to play both sides of the fence in Washington as he pushes his socialist reforms through but the rest of the world will not look favorable on wishy-washy stances on relations. This is compounded when injustice and genocide are the result.

We wanted to let you know about a website that is the next generation in empowering people. This is a new social networking and training website for community activists. This is next level up from both FaceBook and Twitter where message can get lost. Activist Academy has a target market of primarily college students, but generally the real target of the site is to all grassroots activists. The problem with using Facebook and Twitter for grassroots activism is there are times when there is way too much chatter and not enough substance. When you think of grassroots actually blending with electronic communication technologies, e-mail, the web pages, and even podcasts the possibilities are endless. The new form of activism will enable faster communications by citizen movements and the delivery of local information to a large audience. This is a game changer for things like fundraising, community building, lobbying, and or course organizing. When we have talked about Activism in the past it consists of intentional action to bring about social, political, economic, or environmental change. One man can stand up on a soap box on a busy street with a bullhorn. They can yell their message to passerby and hope to enlighten and maybe even recruit new followers. When that same person uses the Activist Academy when they find a follower they will tell two friends, and they tell two friends, and they tell two friends and pretty soon it is a movement. Thanks to meeting place being on line the discussion and events are viewed by all the topic is open to debate, the platform can shift with the members the possibilities are endless. This is still one person on a street corner looking to change a wrong, except this time the street corner is an IP address and the because of the Internet everyone can stop by.

It is becoming clearer every day this President is power hungry. It is also clear that he will do whatever it takes to be the winner at not matter stands in his way. First we saw the midnight passing of the stimulus package. Then we saw the arm twisting and backroom deals of healthcare. Now we are seeing him taking actions through his minions to make sure 2012 will not be more of fight within the party. Democrats have taken an initial step toward limiting the influence of independent superdelegates in choosing the party’s presidential nominee in 2012. A Democratic National Committee panel is recommending a reduction in the number of superdelegates, from 20 percent of the total number of delegates to 15 percent. This will need the full Democratic National Committee approval the change at a meeting later this summer. Right now superdelegates are the members of Congress, governors and party elders who can back candidates regardless of how their states vote. In 2008 Barack Obama won over plenty of superdelegates, helping him build enough votes over Hillary Rodham Clinton in the final count. This move is to make sure he cannot have the rug pulled out from under him the way he pulled it out on Hillary. We do not believe anything that is happening nationwide for the democrats is not marching orders from the White House.

We might be over obsessed with the race in Nevada but we so want Majority Leader Harry Reid to go down. So any time we hear that U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle on denounce Majority Leader Harry Reid as a “desperate man” who was distorting her conservative record while ignoring a state that leads the nation in joblessness, foreclosures and bankruptcies. We have to not only mention it but applaud. They are really scared they brought in President Barack Obama for two fund raisers and a rally. To her credit Angle stood firm and fought back with some truth of her own. She accused the president and Reid of pushing billions of dollars in stimulus spending while Nevada struggles with an economy that is a disaster. We love the message as U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle is calling for the repeal of the health care overhaul, lower taxes and disbanding federal agencies, including the Education Department that she said had responsibilities that can be handled at the state level. She is quoted as saying “I hold him personally responsible for what is happening in our nation,” and “Why would you believe anything he puts on television, this man has been waterboarding our economy.” The 527 Patriot Majority, have begin to run attack ads as well that are funded largely by labor unions. We have seen nation wide Majority Leader Harry Reid have a 53%-25% unfavorable/ favorable rating. We know it is a silly question based on Cap’n’Trade, Healthcare Reform and his Supreme Court Justice choices but he is so far out of whack on illegal immigration it is scary. The argument is going to be just like Healthcare the left is going to say if American voted they would have never given the right for women to vote or civil rights never would have passed. This is different and when you see that retirees and other residents from all over the country donated nearly $500,000 to help Arizona defend its immigration enforcement law. These little people are mad as hell and trying not to take it anymore. Most of these donations were $100 or less. What is even more impressive is after President Obama and AG Eric Holder tried to slap down Arizona it amped up support as 7,008 of the 9,057 online contributions submitted by Thursday morning were made after the government’s filing. Want another nugget for your upcoming debates with your friends from the left the contributions came from all 50 states the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The Arizona law will prompt illegal immigrants to leave the state and that state action was required by a failure of the federal government to secure the border. Governor Brewer established the Governor’s Border Security and Immigration Legal Defense Fund with an executive order on May 26 as she new where this is headed. Since the United States is a republic a judge can only rule in favor of Arizona and this will force the government to do something about border security. It is insane to think that the Arizona law, which is an exact copy Federal Law not being enforced, can be deemed illegal by the Attorney General and the President.

You know that Republican Sharron Angle must have them really worried now. The biggest gun the democrats have is President Barack Obama and he went on the attack against Republican Sharron Angle. In a rally for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid the President of the United States said that Republican Sharron Angle views are too extreme and ridiculing her comments on the BP oil spill. We know they are scared of her because President Obama never mentioned Sharron Angle by name or the Tea Party express train she drove in on. The campaign rally Thursday night was at a Las Vegas casino the place were President Obama said Americans should not go. Amazing that Republican Sharron Angle has been forced to take back a comment that we all know is the problem with Washington. If you have not heard, she referred to the $20 billion victims’ compensation fund for the Gulf oil spill as a slush fund. Is this really so hard to believe since we gave this president 787 billion for a stimulus that he has only used half. The other half we are going to see rolled out of the August and September brought home to you by your Democratic representatives to save schools, police, fireman and jump start local economies. This of course will be in time to run on that for the election in November. There we go getting all mean spirited again. The problem is that is not working anymore as bringing home pork will not get you elected and based on his track record having President Obama fly in to your campaign rallies has meant you lose as well.

This has a nice ring Republican Senator from West Virginia the last time there was an actual Republican Senator from West Virginia was 1958. John D. Hoblitzell, Jr. he lasted from January 25, 1958 to November 5, 1958 Hoblitzell was appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Matthew M. Neely. There is hope as West Virginia has cleared the way for Govenor Joe Manchin to put a special election for the late Robert C. Byrd’s Senate seat on the November ballot. The seat will come up for re-election in 2012. This is just like in Massachusetts and we all know how well that went. The rush to ballot is to not cost the state two elections buy holding a special election. If you remember West Virginia voters overwhelmingly voted for Republican John McCain in the 2008 presidential race. So we welcome a special election that would put another Democratic Senate seat in play this year as they struggles to retain a majority. Top democrats Govenor Joe Manchin, Secretary of State Natalie Tennant, and Attorney General Darrell McGraw are all ready to run for the seat. There will be an interim selection which are former state Democratic Party chair Nick Casey; his successor, Larry Puccio; former Democratic governors Gaston Caperton and Bob Wise; Senate President Earl Ray Tomblin, D-Logan; and longtime Byrd aide Anne Barth. There is a short list of Republican candidates but in the current climate it will not take long for the GOP and Tea Party to pick a winner. The one name that has risen to the top is Republican Representative Shelley Moore Capito. Let us all say it together Republican Senator from West Virginia Shelley Moore Capito, that sounds nice.
