http://mailVU.com = The Future is Now

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of mailVU. All opinions are 100% mine.

Here is an idea that is a long time coming. There is a new website service being delivered by http://mailVU.com. mailVU is a free video email service that allows you to record video email from any computer with a webcam, and play it on any computer, iPhone, and other smart phones. You do not need an account or any special software required for download as well as it being super easy to use. We checked it out and have to say it might be the next best thing to a live conference. This is so much better than using YouTube or a Video Chat like Skype. This is because when you use http://mailVU.com you are creating a private moment between two people. YouTube you must share with the world and Skype you need to be online at the same time. We have seen many uses for this already. When a family is separated by time zones this is a great way to message each other. We do not know if the military are aloud to use this service but you can see anyone who never knows when they will get to the Internet again will find this an amazing medium. Grandchildren can say hello to grandparents, and business executives can send video messages to the employees. MailVU is so simple you just “push” the video to the other person’s email inbox. This video email can be created, and read, at any time. They also have a self-destruct feature available to delete the video after a certain number of views or days. We are going to use this plenty as this is going to be an instant alternative to wasted time getting together for a video chat.

Roger Williams Park Zoo

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Roger Williams Park Zoo, is a great family stop in Rhode Island. It is one of the oldest zoos in the country opening in 1872. The buildings on the grounds are amazing as it has a beautiful Victorian architecture. There is an average of 700,000 walking through the turnstiles ever year and a membership is over 16,000 members. The mission statement of the zoo is to provide recreation, education, conservation and research. The cost compared t other attractions is low with a $12 adult cost and $6 for children. There were 37 featured animals and exhibits the day we were there and although it was a hot day we were in the zoo for over four hours. We read somewhere that the Zoo is forty acres and features over 160 different species of animals. You can always tell what a big hit was really when you ask the next day what was the best and it was the Red Panda and the Giant Anteater. If you are there and it is open make sure you check out the Marco Polo Trail a multifaceted exhibit where you follow the path of explorer Marco Polo. It is amazing to see Dromedary camels, moon bears, and the show stopper the snow leopards. You will need to bring plenty of film or extra batteries for the digital as it is a sight to behold. We though it was a really good take and clean, updated fun for the whole family.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer for President

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Is there anything more that can be said about how great Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is, we can only think of one thing? This of course is a run for the White House to replace the current occupant. She once again stood her ground and rejected the claim by the Obama administration that the border is more secure than ever. We have heard of fighting fire with fire but today Arizona is fighting pork with pork. Governor Brewer announced Monday that she is directing $10 million in federal stimulus dollars to tackle smuggling and illegal immigration. The Obama administration is going to lose this one and they know it. They announced a plan to send 1,200 National Guard troops to the southwestern states. Governor Brewer who actually has people on the ground will send the stimulus money to more than a dozen border cities, counties and several tribes. The target is fighting drug trafficking, illegal immigration and human smuggling. The federal answer is to send 500 troops. The border is 389 miles long, which is a better solution putting one National Guardsman an average of one per mile or using $10 million in federal stimulus dollars to buy certain equipment, like vehicles built for the harsh environment along the border and communications equipment. We want to take you back to something we have always said Senators do not make good Presidents and governors do. The reason is a governor is a problem solver and a senator never has or needs that quality.
