This is not a paid review, this is not a plea for referrals, this is a straight up awestruck post over an idea that is years ahead of its time. Wereward is the perfect gel of mobile user, constant online connectivity and advertisers. Ted Murphy at IZEA has hit this one out of the park as this is the most impressive platform they have ever introduced. An advertiser can spend millions without any visible return. A mobile user can go the same places and never be rewarded for their patronage. Wereward has mashed up these two into a platform that makes everyone get something for the effort. An example is Starbucks offers a Wereward if you go to a Starbucks, take a photo with your phone of you drinking a coffee in the store. You post it up to wereward and you get points for doing this task. The promotion for the advertiser is like a coupon. The user gets a service in this case a coffee and cash back when earned enough points. The power of this makes you feel like this is going to become the model for advertising over the next 10 years. The magic of the details are what so amazing, the advertiser has photos of real people using their product, x&y gens do not clip coupons but everyone likes something for free or at discount. This program is less than a month old and we check it all the time as it is not only a reward program but as everything with IZEA it is just fun. Ted Murphy has created an environment along with his team of navigating the slippery snake of internet advertising and riding the waves to the next big thing. This is another example of a vision that after it is put into practice you just know this is going to be big.

This Tuesday we are primed and ready for these votes in 12 states. Some of the highlights are the fate of two Washington incumbents that include a two-term senator in Arkansas and a six-term congressman in South Carolina. In Arkansas the runoff between Senator Blanche Lincoln Bill Halter, we want the devil we do not know because anyone who voted for healthcare should go down. This will also be more evidence of the strength of the tea party movement. The biggest name needing to go down for Healthcare is Nevada Democrat Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader. We will find who of the three Republicans is going to take him on. The tea party favorite Sharron Angle seems like she have the inside track. We also have interest in California where Meg Whitman looks to be Governor and Carly Fiorina to challenge Democratic Senator. Barbara Boxer. The South Carolina governor race has four Republicans to choose from State Rep. Nikki Haley has the backing of the tea party and Sarah Palin in her bid to become the state’s first female governor. Georgia there is a runoff to fill a vacant House seat in a Republican district. Maine voters will choose nominees for governor. Iowa has a three-way Republican primary for the right to oppose Democrat Chet Culver. There are also primaries in Montana, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Dakota and Virginia. Since today is day 500 of the President Obama administration it is amazing how he single handedly brought the republican party back from the abyss of 2008.

There is no better winter vacation then Daytona Beach. Any spot in Florida is great when the winter cold is bearing down. We have become big fans of Daytona over the last few years. There are plenty of places to stay and the town is NASCAR crazy. When there is a race going on it is obviously tougher to get a room. Our prefect Daytona vacation starts on a Monday and runs to Thursday we like to stay right on the beach and have a rental car. One of the best things to do in Daytona is to get a pass to drive your car on the beach. Being from the northeast you can go to the beach but Daytona was the first place we had seen cars drive on the beach. Sitting on your balcony you can watch a wide variety of muscle cars and supped up dune buggies roll along the golden sand. Daytona has their own International airport so it is easy to get flight into and Disney, SeaWorld and the Kennedy Space Center are all lee than 75miles away. There are four weekends you want to stay away from the two NASCAR weeks and two motorcycle weeks because the place does get crowded, spring break is another time of year to avoid. Daytona Beach is a great beach getaway in sunny Florida that will give you the fell of summer anytime of the year.

Are you ready for the follow-up to last years’ Recyclage de Luxe Show? This year it is called the CO2eux Soireé. Just like Recyclage de Luxe it is also inspired by 1960s television programs and it will be aired live from inside the new bottle. The new bottle is Stella Artois doing their part to save the world one bottle at a time. Every little bit helps and doing something is better than nothing. Stella Artois believes many small green steps help make a big difference. This is not just a donation or a plant a tree campaign they have hit research and development team to make a difference. The response is a home run as the new bottles not only contain less glass but are made of 75% recycled glass. They did not stop there as they took the green initiative to the cans as they now are made from 50% recycled aluminum. They brought the green ideas to the packaging as well. The corrugated packaging they use for the packs are now being made out of 100% recycled paper and our cardboard packaging is certified compostable. This is not a flash in the pan as they have committed that over the coming years, the brand will continue to produce pioneering eco innovations, taking small steps towards improving the environment. The video below is a preview of the four episodes that will be available to view at www.facebook.com/co2euxsoiree . We want to give two thumbs way up for this green initiative and have bought into the idea that all companies should be doing what is happening at Stella Artois.

We would like to draw your attention to Le CO2eux Soireé. If you have not heard of it you are going to want to. Check out the video we posted below for a sneak peek of this four-part variety show. This campaign was created to launch Stella Artois’ new lightweight bottle, which contains less glass and therefore produces less CO2 emissions. This is a follow-up to last years’ Recyclage de Luxe Show. CO2eux Soireé is a take off on 1960s type television programs except the show is aired live from inside the new lightweight bottle. You can also see a live set from The Mystery Jets, performing their yet to be released single Dreaming of Another World. The reason this post is titled Marina and the Diamonds New Spot is this will feature the first ever music video from Marina and the Diamonds and the hit single I Am Not a Robot. Marina and the Diamonds have had huge début success and critical praise for their first LP release in early 2010 titled, The Family Jewels. Marina comes from a Greek/Welsh background born in Abergavenny, and was nominated for the critics’ award at this year’s BRITS. You have to be aware of Stella Artois as history shows they had a brewery that dated back to 1366, the Leuven’s Den Horen Brewery is still in existence today. In 1708, Sebastian Artois became the master brewer at Den Horen, and gave his name to the brewery in 1717. In 1926, Stella Artois was launched initially as a seasonal beer especially for the Christmas holiday market. A company with this kind of rich tradition and history is not only taking care of their longevity but taking care of our plant as well, Cheers to them.
The primary season has been quite telling but as a New Mexico goes, it is all about the ladies. Prosecutor Susana Martinez has won the Republican nomination for New Mexico governor. She will run in the general election on November Second against Democrat Diane Denish. No matter who wins, this will be New Mexico’s first female governor. If you also are a junkie like us, if you are reading this you probably are this is only the third woman-against-woman gubernatorial general election match-up in United States history. The background on where Susana Martinez record of accomplishment, she is a lawyer and served as a Dona Ana County district attorney. She won a five-way contest for the GOP nomination on Tuesday night with 51 percent of the vote. The next closet was the former state GOP chairman Allen Weh who had 29 percent. This is nice as we see the end of the Governor Bill Richardson era in New Mexico. We watched as Governor Bill Richardson withdrew his presidential cabinet nomination and then waited around for a federal grand jury to find any wrongdoing involving two of his top aides. The pay-to-play deal allegation involved political contributions and state contracts they were what did him in on the job as President Obama’s secretary of commerce. He is not running because of term limits, as he was never charged by the federal grand jury. We hope for a goo fall for Susana Martinez in New Mexico.

We cannot play both sides of the fence and what is good for the goose is good for the gander. We cannot celebrate the loss of party turncoat Arlen Spector last week in Philadelphia and hide in the sand when it comes to Alabama. We were happy that a democrat had jumped ship due to the crazy antics of the party. We wished the best for him and hoped it was going to work out and any seat in congress that changes to GOP at the time was good news. Last year was long ago and more and more it looks like no one is going to be safe. We are talking about Alabama Republican U.S. Representative Parker Griffith, who we applauded when switched from the Democratic Party last year looks like he can join Spector on the unemployment line. The Tea party did him in as their guy congressional candidate Mo Brooks won with slightly more than 50 percent of the vote in a three-candidate field for the 5th District seat. Parker Griffith never saw it coming as this defeat in his district’s GOP primary is another blow to incumbents. Mo Brooks rode into the election as with a background as a member of the Madison County Commission in Huntsville. Brooks tagged Griffith as a “flip-flopper” rightfully so, and picked up tea party support. This Alabama fifth district traditionally has been Democratic, but has leaned Republican in recent years. The election will be GOP Mo Brooks versus Democrat Steve Raby.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hormel Foods. All opinions are 100% mine.
We wanted to cue you in on product that has been part of America for a long time. That company is hormel. They have been creating ad campaigns that have been part of the American landscape for years. They started back in the 1930s, the characters back then where Jiggs and Maggie for the original Dinty Moore®. The first commercial we ever remember was the manly lumber jack character used to say First name is Dinty, and the last name is Moore. When we were kids my brother and I would come in from playing in the snow and Dinty Moore was for lunch. She would put the can between my brother and I and we would spin it around and around during lunch. We have watched over the years as the ads have changed and the product line grew as they added things like Hormel® chili. We remember watching Minnesota Vikings Quarterback Fran Tarkenton with his offensive line doing some ads. The bottom line on why these products have been around 80 years is not the ad campaigns it is what is in the can. They have changed with times and added to the originals. The new, premium Hormel® Chili Master™ varieties such as white chicken chili and roasted tomato, and from Dinty Moore® cans to new Dinty Moore® HeartyMeals™ varieties such as chicken pot pie and noodles and beef, the brands continue to expand their product offerings while remaining family favorites in cabinets across the country. Go to the website and check out the journey through each brand’s history and relive those unique stories through video footage, radio spots, images and recipes.
This of course is only when the greater good is for their party. It is amazing it had taken a shining light of realizing what everyone else predicated would happen. This comes to us via Hawaii as we watched Republican Charles Djou grabbed enough votes to beat the democratic competition. They were told that they would split the vote and Charles Djou the former Honolulu City councilman became the first Republican in nearly 20 years to win a congressional seat from Hawaii when he won the May 22 special election. Talk about late to the party or waking up from a bad dream to a reality slap, the former Democratic U.S. Rep. Ed Case said he would not run again for the Hawaii congressional seat. That means State Senator Colleen Hanabusa is a shoe to win the party nomination in the September 18 primary. We laughed as together Hanabusa and Case finished second and third with a combined 58 percent of the vote. The numbers beared out that Djou received 67,610 votes, or 39.4 percent, Hanabusa received 52,802 votes, or 30.8 percent and Case, received 47,391 votes, or 27.6 percent. This means Djou job just got extremely harder as he had solid support from state and national Republicans and ran a disciplined campaign focused on taxes and government spending at a time when Hawaii’s tourism-driven economy remains troubled and the state is facing a $1 billion deficit.
