The Supreme Court held up the second amendment saying that Americans have the right to own a gun for self-defense anywhere they live, advancing a recent trend by the John Roberts-led bench to embrace gun rights. The 5-4 vote, will cast doubt over the handgun ban in the Chicago. This decision did not explicitly strike down the Chicago area laws. Instead, it ordered a federal appeals court to reconsider its ruling. There is little doubt that the statutes eventually would fall. Justices John Paul Stevens, on his final day on the bench after more than 34 years, was in dissent. The NRA said they would continue to work at every level to insure that defiant city councils and cynical politicians do not transform this constitutional victory into a practical defeat through Byzantine regulations and restrictions. The only restriction that is true if you ban handguns only bad guys will have hand guns. The only way to effectively attempt gun control is by allowing fewer guns into the market place. There also needs to be a stronger destruction of existing weapons in lockup and out on the streets. These programs cost money and they will not get the guns away from the bad guys. The freedom this country allows is not without flaw and this problem is going to around as long as the second amendment is upheld. Thankfully, for now this is still the case, as the bill of rights needs to be in place as it is the foundation for which the USA stands.

We have are already seen a huge anti-establishment in the primary season. There are reports some of the Republican Party’s best-known insiders are building an ambitious fundraising machine for the fall elections. In April, cashing a $1 million check from a Trevor Rees-Jones, president of Dallas-based Chief Oil and Gas. The new organization’s core group, American Crossroads, is looking to reach a goal of raising $52 million by November. American Crossroads a 527 organization is the brain child of Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie. Steven Law, a former U.S. Chamber of Commerce lawyer was named president of American Crossroads, said the group has about $30 million in pledges. The idea was because they watched Moveon.org, Democracy Alliance, and Democracy Corps, we so successful across the nation. There are few other 527 jumping under the umbrella including American Action Network, American Action Forum, and Republican State Leadership Committee. We first heard of the American Crossroads, spending $360,000 on TV ads in Nevada criticizing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who faces tea party-backed Republican Sharron Angle this fall. American Crossroads has their cross hairs on Democratic senators in Arkansas, Colorado and Washington State, and to help Republicans win open Senate seats in Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, New Hampshire, Ohio and Pennsylvania. American Crossroads will spend heavily on voter turnout efforts, an area where they feel Democrats and their labor union allies have excelled.

We watched as former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich claimed on the apprentice that when he had his day in court he would be exonerated. Now that trial has started it seems to be getting worse and worse for blogo. The best we can hope is he can dim the shine on the golden one from the white house. Today we got a little closer to that wish. An ex-aide John Harris former chief of staff to Governor Rod Blagojevich testified this week that President Obama knew Blagojevich wanted a plum job in the administration in exchange for appointing a politically palatable person to fill Obama’s vacated Senate seat. The testimony claims that President Obama was well aware that Blagojevich was hopeful to leverage the Senate seat into a cabinet position for himself. Harris told the court Blagojevich believed that if he appointed to the Senate Obama’s longtime friend Valerie Jarrett, Blagojevich would get a top job. The White House has claimed that President Obama had no direct knowledge and communication with emissaries and others regarding the appointment to his Senate seat. The only thing that could make it better if they allowed Blagojevich’s lawyers request to subpoena Obama earlier this year be allowed but Judge Zagel refused to allow it. We can only hope the grilling from Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is worht the wait. As far as Blog goes the more times they release taped conversation the worse he looks and we are not sure what he was talking about when he claimed he would be exonerated.

There are times your hand is dealt for you and you have to play the cards. We watched this play out this week and now General David Petraeus is set to take command of the nine-year war in Afghanistan. The problem the King of all left Media is going to have is the July 2011 troop drawdown deadline he created. There can be no way General Petraeus is going to succeed in a fight if the president stands firms as our enemies are already planning on that withdrawal. We understand the politics of the statement, meant to pressure the Afghan government to provide services and reduce corruption at a faster pace. When he was pushed for 40,000 troops and rules of engagement changes President Obama balked, this was like when the first two cards were dealt, he sent half the troops, making the line of battle fuzzy and setting a timeline. Then President Obama bet and raised the hand the first card of the river a General McChrystal firing and the next card a General Petraeus replacement, the last card on the river is a senate confirmation hearing. This is where President Obama may get to bet again or call. We think the hand is a loser as the deadline is unrealistic when considering that the population in Afghanistan is corrupt and training an adequate number of troops and police to take over their own responsibilities in this time table is not realistic.

We want to keep pointing out the media bias the lame stream media says does not exist. Today we find another example. Let us start with a riddle what cutting edge newspaper with hard hitting reporters has uncovered three presidential candidates being smarmy and getting no credit. Not enough how about what do President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore and Presidential candidate John Edwards all have in common. Probably still nothing but the facts are this National Enquirer was the first to report about President Clinton and Monica, which the lame stream tried not only down play but ignore. The National Enquirer was the first to find out and report the John Edwards love child which liberal media ignored during the campaign season and basically cost Hillary Clinton the nomination and gave us President Obama. Today the National Enquirer breaks the story Vice President Al Gore had a $300 massage in a Seattle hotel that he must have thought was a happy ending message, surprising the masseuse. This happened 2006 and the lame stream reports had the story and sat on it for over two years. There is no trend here that you can see is there. To all the liberal democrats who think we are always over reaching with these things. Why don’t you plug President Bush, Dick Cheney or even Sarah Palin into any of these situations and see if the National Enquirer is the first to break the story.

Another Wednesday morning after primary elections and it is all still good. In South Carolina Republicans nominated a tea party-backed state Rep. Nikki Haley for a run for governor as another incumbent went down hard as the state’s old-boy network watched Rep. Gresham Barrett, a four-term congressional representative fall way short. The final vote was 65-35 in the landslide for the tea party and Haley. South Carolina Republicans also nominated Tim Scott who beat Paul Thurmond, the son of the late U.S. senator Strom Thurmond. The final vote here was even larger at 68-32 with all precincts counted. Six-term Republican Rep. Bob Inglis fell to prosecutor Trey Gowdy, this is the fifth House or Senate incumbent to fall. In North Carolina, Elaine Marshall won the Democratic nomination beating former Army prosecutor Cal Cunningham. This must sting the Democratic Party leaders in Washington that recruited Cunningham at they also spent more than $100,000 on his campaign. Utah Republicans chose attorney Mike Lee as a successor to loser Senator Bob Bennett. In Mississippi, voters chose Republican Bill Marcy to challenge Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson. The song continues and it does not matter Democrat or Republican incumbency and Washington insiders are going down and it feels good.

Before we start we think McChrystal should resign or be fired. The Commander and Chief cannot have insubordination in the field from his highest-ranking general in the theatre. We also think this was more a suicide then a revolt. General McChrystal knows he did not get enough troops, he knows the cut of date approaches, and the administration was going to blame him for why Afghanistan is no better today than nine years ago. The media is so over the top on this one when General Wesley Clark jumped on President Bush over Iraq policy he was a media darling, truth to power they said. When it is their messiah getting the shaft, they call for swift punishment and immediate removal. Clark was not in the field but the comments are the same. We think this is a suicide because what General even talks to Rolling Stone magazine. Speaking of that, when was the last time anyone mentioned Rolling Stone and being relevant? The truth is the General and his staff did not say anything every military person in the filed or stateside will tell you. The rules of engagement in Afghanistan are murky and it is a no win.

The President who told a graduating class not to blame others and take responsibility, proves again do what I say not what I do. President Barack Obama on Saturday blamed the Republicans for making life harder for the unemployed by the rejection of a bill in the Senate that would have provided more money for the long-term unemployed, aid for strapped state governments and the renewal of popular tax breaks for businesses and individuals. The proble3m is the answer is not giving out more government money it to create new jobs. This of course stops and starts right at the President’s desk. This president loves to blame others and has never taken account that he has been President now for 516 days and at some point everything is his problem. President Truman understood this because he said the buck stops here. Going back to the failed bill for a moment there are only 41 Republican senators the bill failed in a 56-40 vote, the math alone says he cannot even democrats on board. That does not stop the President Obama blame machine from deflecting the fact that his party was not on board. We do not care about this bill the problem is not paying out more out of work benefits, it is creating jobs. There is only one person to blame for unemployment staying around 10% the president does not have a plan to get American back to work, paying taxes into the system, to help government have more money, workers paying into social security, less people needing unemployment benefits, and making American self supportive.

We sat and watched for over a week as partisan bickering in the Senate on what to do for the poor doctors and Medicare. They finally gave out enough deals and passed the legislation to spare doctors a 21 percent cut in Medicare payments which we have been hearing about for months. Government is broken because no sooner was the bill passed Medicare announced it would begin processing claims it has already received for June at the lower rate. This means doctors that bill under Medicare’s physician fee schedule will now have to resubmit their claims if they want to be paid, let us just double the effort for both for the providers and for the taxpayers to pay. Medicare is a giant health care program for 46 million elderly and disabled people. The bill to hold of the Medicare billings of a 21 percent cut in payments expired May 31. Medicare had been holding off on processing claims in the hopes lawmakers would act. The bill passed by the Senate only delays the cuts until the end of November, you know after congressional elections. The AMA says continuing financial uncertainty may lead some doctors to stop taking new Medicare patients, and others may drop out of the program altogether. So the question for these last couple days of summer after the winter of Healthcare Reform, how can any sane person think this government can run any program efficiently and better then the private for profit business? Medicare is a government program and congress is part of the government and if this is a demonstration of how our new Healthcare will be working together, we are screwed.
