AAPS files lawsuit against Healthcare reform

There is a group of close to 5,000 American physicians that are filing a suit to stop the new national healthcare law signed by President Obama and passed only by democrats. The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons claims the bill that passed threatens not only to destroy freedom in medicine but will also bankrupt the country. The Arizona-based medical coalition filed suit on March 26, arguing that congressional reforms illegally coerce individuals into buying insurance from private companies. The bill that passed reads that starting in 2014; anyone who chooses not to buy health insurance faces a small federal penalty. When 2016 rolls around the fine will be $695 a year per person or 2.5 percent of overall income. Easy math says that if you earn $27,800 in 2016 if you do not have coverage you are subject to the penalties and fines. The AAPS has my legs as they claim this is an unconstitutional grab that rewards insurance companies and allows the federal government to seize private property in violation of the 5th Amendment. The AAPS is the only medical society to file suit against the health care package. The AAPS hopes more groups will join their suit, and predicts a shortage of doctors as the medical community adjusts to the new law.
