We were a little sad when se heard Joseph P. Kennedy III, the son of a former congressman and the grandson of Robert F. Kennedy, was rumored to be next in line to be pushed into running for U.S. House from Massachusetts this year. We have restored our faith in the political gods as the air to the thrown has decided not to run as he wants to remain in his new job as a prosecutor in Cape Cod’s Barnstable County. This was a power grab by trying to use a Kennedy to hold the seat the Delahunt was sure to lose, if he runs at all. The problem is former state Treasurer Joe Malone and state Rep. Jeffrey Perry of Sandwich, to say they are considering running for the Delahunt’s seat. There is a new hope in Massachusetts that Republicans can win other things than the governor’s race. The young Kennedy has the entire lineage and the resume to fit the job. He spent two years in as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic after graduating from Stanford. It is amazing the comparison of Joseph P. Kennedy II to Patrick Patches Kennedy as when we saw the runt of the litter from Ted the run of the litter we understand why. The good news is crisis averted and the 112 congress will be Kennedy free from 2012 moving forward.
