File under you do not know that is the end until you fall of the world New York temporary Governor David Paterson decided that he would launch his campaign for a full four-year term. Paterson has only been in charge since March of 2008 as he placed into the job after Eliot Spitzer resigned. This makes Paterson the first Democrat in the race, but he will have plenty of competition. Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is one that is rumored to be in the running. This could happen to good candidates not ones that chief of staff admitted not paying income taxes for five years and ultimately resigned and totally mishandled the replacement of the U.S. Senate seat by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. When he pushed Caroline Kennedy then cut her at the knees. Democrats had the power in the Senate, and Paterson was unable to broker any good will to get things done. So far the only Republican candidate is Congressman Rick Lazio who lost this seat to Clinton. It is odd that his tea leaves have told him incumbents are going to pay. Patterson has only about $3 million and campaign donations could be slow as he is not endorsed by the White House. That has not turned out well the last three times anyway. It is going to be an interesting spring as we watch who thinks they should fight for their job and who should just fade away. We believe this is one that should just fade away. We are not sure this is a bad job by handlers or a naive sense that it cannot happen to me.
