President Obama stimulus does not stimulate

There was a report that ten months into President Barack Obama’s first economic stimulus plan, a surge in spending on roads and bridges has had no effect on local unemployment and construction industry, an Associated Press analysis has found. The local unemployment rates rose and fell regardless of how much stimulus money Washington spent. Does this not call into question President Barack Obama’s call for a second stimulus bill from Congress for more road and bridge spending? Even with the clever name Jobs for Main Street Act; it is another $75 billion stimulus that already passed the House 217-212. The Senate will vote sometime in January. We do not understand why they cannot get it, all the new money in the world for shovel ready road projects is never going to offset job loss. The people that are losing jobs are not in construction and do not benefit enough no matter how many jobs are created or saved from that money. The only way to bolster the economy and create real jobs is to give business a reason to do it. If a company has six employees in a department and they lay off three. If the three remaining pick up he slack the company has no incentive in a stagnant economy to replace the laid off workers.
