Prisoners return to battle, who knew?
Here is a riddle if you are captured in a theatre of war, flown to a prison thousands of miles away and held there until your release, think you might hold a grudge. Turns out this is true as the Pentagon released a report saying that one in five terror suspects released from the Guantanamo Bay prison has returned to the fight. This is not going to stop President Barack Obama’s plan to close the military prison because he has to he said he would do it and no matter how many lives it cost he needs to be right. This rate has risen as it was 11% in 2008, the under President Obama in April, it was 14%. Just like President Obama popularity numbers are falling the prisoners who return to the fight is growing. The number is now at 20% can be a prisoner of war ever really be reformed? Is there any doubt that Guantanamo Bay remains the proper place for holding terrorists? We have heard not from President Obama but in the light of these reports and the Christmas fruit of the boom bomber closing the detention facility plans were on hold. Congress has put a squeeze on the money and the authority to move detainees from Guantanamo Bay. It also was released that nearly half of the remaining 198 detainees at Guantanamo Bay are from Yemen. We are not sure there is an answer for what to do with prisoners of war that have no country, from a battle with no end in sight. There should be no surprise that once release the prisoners goes back and joins the fight.Days until American Idol 8 days
