President Obama’s big gamble
It is hard to believe with all the bad decisions this President has made, it is a list to big to mention. It is also hard to believe that was made on the 295 day of the “Hope and Change” regime. Attorney General Eric Holder announced yesterday that the Obama administration plans to put on trial the professed mastermind of the Sept. 11 terror attacks and four alleged accomplices in a lower Manhattan courthouse. This is tremendous error in judgment on so many levels; we believe this is the opening to start trails on the Guantanamo Bay Prisoners of War. The reason we believe this is a bad idea is because it means that we are counting on a federal prosecutor, do you remember Marcia Clark she was a county DA but you understand our concern. If the Federal DA is competent then what about the issue of the supposed rough treatment of the detainees and the sensitive intelligence gathering methods used, a court will bar evidence obtained under duress. We are concerned that brining Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four others to trial in a courtroom that was in the shadows of the World Trade Center’s twin towers, will be more circus than trial. The administration believes they have a strong enough case against the five men to deliver a guilty verdict and a death sentence for the deaths of nearly 3,000 people. We believe because they are prisoners of war pulled from a battlefield it should be military commission trial with less chance of being a circus. The government said that five other Guantanamo detainees, including the alleged mastermind of the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, would be sent to military commissions to face charges. The basis we believe is one an attack on military and the attack on US soil. The last part of a scare is the involvement of the ACLU and ambulance chasing lawyer to not only throw out the case due to waterboarding and then sue the military for damages.
