A day of Gloating

It was a very enjoyable Election Day. We watched as it seemed every race had the winner getting a checkmark in the Republican column. We know everyone wants to down play the importance. Everyone wants to tell you these wins were about the local politics. We still want to gloat. We still can enjoy the night because last November was so bad. Then when you stop to lock at it, it was only 12 months ago when President Barack Obama road a wave of Hope and Change into the White House. Then he doubled down on an inauguration day outlining a bold agenda. Then we watched as reality dealt him his only card and it he was not even close to 21. This may not be the beginning of the end but it feels like it, this may not be the day we can look at as the turning point that cost him congress in 2010 and his own reelection in 2012. Today we can gloat because all of that goodwill that was built up appears to be gone. We heard the White House make the comment they did not watch the election returns last night. They spent the last three weeks running back and forth to New Jersey and Virginia and then they did not care about the results. We are so happy gloating we will even give that a pass. It was a good day and we feel that as the next four years roll on there is going to a lot of election the White House is going to say they did not watch as we are hopeful that this feeling is here to stay.
