President Obama back in the saddle

President Barack Obama returns the whitehouse after two failed summits and rah rah speech in Ghana. The problem is the economy shows no signs improvement and the $787 billion stimulus package is falling short of goals. President Obama is urging Americans to have patience and give his economic recovery plan time to work. He used his weekly radio and Internet address. He stayed by the words they have used since the jump “a two-year program” and “steadily save and create jobs as it ramps up over this summer and fall.” The problem is Americans are becoming increasingly uneasy with rising unemployment and ballooning budget deficits. They told this plan was to keep unemployment under 8%, hello from the reality check it is now 9.5%. The economic mess he inherited from President George W. Bush, might sound good in November but with unemployment pushing toward 10 percent it is not going to be a the fall and winter could turn cold for the administration. We have been a strong supporter of Representative Eric Cantor of Virginia who is the House republican whip who plainly stated, “this is now President Obama’s economy and the American people are beginning to question whether his policies are working.” This should be a good week or two as President Obama faces Senate confirmation of his first pick as a Supreme Court Justice, Healthcare, Afghanistan, and the mass grave, the FBI report on Torture and the famous green job.
