Stage and cast for Sonia Sotomayor

Sonia Sotomayor’s confirmation hearings are going live on Monday and the cast has been set. The stage will be Capitol Hill and the proceedings will be filled with political theatre as always. Sotomayor’s nomination to become the Supreme Court’s first Hispanic justice replacing retired Justice David Souter’s seat on the nine-member court. The cast of eighteen from congress we are eager to see a few these people in action or reaction. The panel will include Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy and eleven other Senate Democrats seven Republican senators. Two of the democrats will be Senator Turncoat Arlen Specter from Pennsylvania and jokeman or a joke you be the judge Senator Al Franken of Minnesota. The more vocal should be Senate Democrats Dick Durbin of Illinois and Charles Schumer of New York. The always ready to say something even if it is only to her herself talk on the record Senator Dianne Feinstein of California although she is the senior women on the panel. The highest ranking Republican is Jeff Sessions of Alabama. The oldest tenured Republican is Senator Orrin Hatch from Utah he has been the committee chairman twice and participated in hearings for eight Supreme Court justices. The Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn, must tread lightly one third of his state is Hispanic and this is an election cycle for him. If you live for politics get some popcorn and watch this show. This is the only place a battle will be as there does not seem to be 40 Republican who will stand in the way of the nomination, so this is all the theatre you are going to get.
