North Korea has been a thorn in the side of President Barack Obama since his first month in office. Lim Jong Il has launched missiles, ignored warnings, laughed at sanctions, put a nuclear weapon on a boat and sailed toward Hawaii and this is in the first six months of the new administration. It is odd that this has happened this many times to President Obama when President Bush never heard a peep, let alone full scale antagonism. The latest is a widespread computer attack that began July 4 knocked out the Web sites of the Treasury Department, the Secret Service, Federal Trade Commission and the Transportation Department and other U.S. agencies. South Korean intelligence officials believe the attacks were carried out by North Korean or pro-Pyongyang forces. U.S. officials so far have refused to publicly discuss details of the attack or where it might have originated. The Homeland Security Department, agency U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team issued a notice on the three day denial of service attack. This is just the latest in a long line of tests that the North Korean government has been throwing at the US. Based on he talks with Russia we do not believe they will be any help in this region and we almost have to rely on China to do something or let Japan began a nuclear weapons program of their own. This is a slippery slope as we look to stop Iraq, Iran and North Korea from WMD, reduce these weapons caches between US and Russia, then green light Japan to make some with our help. We believe this attitude the President has of let everyone get along and proper is going to leave us weaker and wide open to attack.
