Microsoft software security hole – shocking

Stop me if you have heard this one before we find out that for over a week there has been a huge Security hole from a Microsoft product. The vulnerability has been attacking thousands of sites which have then been hacked to serve up malicious software that exploits the vulnerability. The vulnerability affects Internet Explorer users whose computers run the Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 operating software. The area it affects is the part of the software used to play video. The problem arises from the way the software interacts with Internet Explorer, which opens a hole for hackers to tunnel into the system. Microsoft urged vulnerable users to disable the problematic part of its software, which can be done from Microsoft’s Web site, while the company works on a patch or an update security fix to address the problem. They have named this the “zero day” vulnerability disclosed. Just like any other thing, you try to find on the Microsoft website especially a negative it takes a while to find the tool. Maybe as the demand increases they will move it to the home page.
