Obama Admin – CIA Holding Documents

President Barack Obama is having one of those careful what you wish for moments. The transparency comment has become quite a hot button. The administration is delaying the release of an internal CIA report on the agency’s Bush-era secret detention and interrogation program. The report was expected to be released Friday, but the CIA is still holding on to the document. The American Civil Liberties Union, which filed a FOIA lawsuit for the release of all documents relating to the CIA’s interrogation program. This latest set back inside the administration might be an internal fight over transparency and secrecy are budding heads. The report is a comprehensive look at everything the agency had been doing related to detention and interrogation. The Freedom of Information Act is being used by the ACLU to obtain the information. The CIA is using the idea that there are states secrets both obtained and used that should never be public knowledge. The funny thing about this whole thing is the states we are trying to torture for information would never have such a proceeding in their countries. No matter what side of the issue you are on, this is what make this country the best form of government that has ever been created and will stand up, and take on all comers and always be the last one standing. Then help rebuild the very nation that attempted to bring us down.
