Google is set to release its own microblogging search engine and the rumors are out. This new product will sort results by relevancy, will be integrated with standard Google search, and will appear based on frequently-used keywords or current events. It also looks like its main source of results will come from Twitter. Google has stated on multiple occasions that it believes Twitter’s real-time search is part of the future of the indexable web. The microblogging engine will run within the Google translation console, where humans translate their products into multiple languages. This would significantly advance the Google real-time results a known weakness. If this is a joint project between Google and Twitter, the folks over at Twitter best be careful. It was not long ago Google and Yahoo entered into a pact and then beat them into submission to the point of selling and a hostile take over by Microsoft. This is a great move for both as Google needs to have a better way to stay on top of what is happening in real time, and Twitter needs a way to bring more people to their results who are not under the blue bird umbrella.
