Climate Change legislation really?

The majority party in Washington is laying it on thick as usual, the new climate change proposal crafted by congressional Democrats and endorsed by President Barrack Obama. The Democratic proposal which would require the first nationwide reductions in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases blamed for global warming. The proposal to cap greenhouse emissions will cost the USA jobs and income at the same time does nothing to cool the earth because China and India will not do the same. We see this as doing very little to reduce global warming while forcing higher energy costs. The climate bill would require a 17 percent reduction in greenhouse gases by 2020 and 83 percent reduction by 2050. The climate change bill could double electric bills. We understand doing something is better than nothing but this bill is short sighted and expensive. We wonder about production of ethanol and biodiesel, efforts to develop less polluting coal plants, expansion of wind power and conservation programs, that President Obama touted during the campaign. We have always been for the expansion of domestic oil, gas development, and nuclear energy and more support for research into ways to capture carbon from coal burning. This looks like a summer battle with the full House over the summer session.
