President Obama budget cuts fall short

President Barack Obama has signed off on 121 cuts totaling $17 billion in his 2010 budget. This is not the kind of slashing he claimed when he was president was going to happen in those debates last fall. It is a start we hope and a move in the right direction. The truth of the matter is that this is only about one-half of one percent of the budget. Congress has already approved the 2010 budget for a total of $3.4 trillion budget. Before we give President Barack Obama credit for inventing the wheel on budget cut in the 2009 budget President Bush cut from 151 programs for a trimming over $18 billion, that budget was $3.1 trillion and was proposed on February 4, 2008. This President set the bar so high for himself on what he planned to do. We have not seen an accomplishment of any of these goals. These first 100 days have been nothing more than telling us he “inherited the mess” and “this is what we can do”, we have not seen any of the bravado and call for change that won him the election. Someday when the lame stream media stops caring about hamburger stops and dog breeds they will notice there is no change but just limping along.

You just don’t step inside to 14 years
So hard to keep my own head… that’s what I say
You know…I’ve been the beggar…I’ve played the thief
I was the dog…they all tried to beat
