President Obama do not say unless you mean it

President Barack Obama announced the elimination of dozens of government programs as part of a broad effort to restore fiscal accountability to the federal budget. He will use his first full Cabinet meeting on Monday to ask department and agency heads for specific proposals for trimming their budgets. There is plenty to trim in the fat and waste from government spending. The elimination of dozens of government programs that have shown to be wasteful or ineffective, there will be no sacred cows and no pet projects. President Barack Obama is claiming the process is to restore a sense of responsibility and accountability to our federal budget. This could not have been stated at a better time as the first six month under President Obama the United States posted a record $956.8 billion budget deficit in 2009, which is more than three times the shortfall of a year ago. The first Obama administration proposed budget clocked in at $3.6 trillion. The first reported cut was a consulting contract to create new seals and logos that cost Department of Homeland Security $3 million since 2003. This is a great example of government gone a awry. We will applaud this effort by President Barack Obama but at this moment is only talk and only cut is an agency created by President Bush. We are not sure if this is another Obama hollow promise or something he intends to champion. The good news is he is on record for trying.
