Google Search – on the rise…still?

Google has taken the widest-ever lead in the U.S. search market in March. These results are according to figures released on Wednesday by comScore. Google had a 63.7 percent share of the 14.3 billion U.S. searches in March, up 0.4 percentage points from February. The highest previous month number was 63.5 percent so Google is only getting stronger. Yahoo saw their U.S. search share inch downwards in March to 20.5 percent. This is important on a couple of fronts, the first is first-quarter earnings are due this week, and second with Yahoo still on the selling block, search share is important. Microsoft, who has been trying to buy Yahoo came in at only 8.3 percent for the month. This is mid boggling when you thin there are 462.3 million searches per day. Google still climbing in searches this breaks down to almost every third search in the US is done by Google. This means each person has seen at least two sponsored links above their results and as many as eight on the right panel. Who would have thought Google was only getting stronger and giving up no market share to any takers.
