Now that Facebook has over 150 million members. This social network phenomenon just passed a five-year birthday no longer just being used by kids in college and high schools. This has infiltrated business and now is being consumed in large amount by surfers who are in their 40’s, 50’s and older. Nothing can be more horrifying to a youngster then their parent trying to friend them on Facebook. We became a member a couple of years ago, we searched for people we knew, and then because there were not many members in my age group it was boring. Well in the last six months my friends number has quadrupled as all of these people join, then crawl out from under the woodwork of my life. The final straw was a friend request from someone I had not talked to since elementary school. Granted we did graduate high school the same year but the last time we faced each other eye to eye we were twelve.
The other problem is the wall of Facebook the newsfeed. When we log in you can look down this list and see people who update their status, which most do too much. We want to start a “Who Cares’ campaign. Therefore, when some posts they are going to bed, doing dishes, cooking dinner, workout, watch TV, and addicted to FB. Comment to them “Who Cares”, this has become the white noise of the Internet and is beyond ridiculous.
