Mickey Rourke Golden Globe

Before we let, the Golden Globes fade away for another year. We would like to mention that when Mickey Rourke won best actor for his role in The Wrestler his acceptance speech was gracious. The thing that caught our ear was he thanked many people for taking a shot on him and he thanked the director Darren Aronofsky for getting the best out of him. The song The Wrestler from the movie written and sung by Bruce Springsteen won the Golden Globe for Best song and Rourke thanked Bruce. While Rourke as talking he mentioned the movie was made on a shoestring budget and had no money. He thanked Axl Rose for giving Sweet Child o Mine free to the movie. Who says Axl is all about cash and himself. There is even a place in the movie when The Wrestler played by Rourke tells Marisa Tomei Guns N Roses rule. The movie debuted at the 2008 Venice Film Festival won the Golden Lion, we have not seen the movie of knew anything about it until we watched the Golden Globes, but it should win an Oscar based on that dialog alone. This movie did not win the GG Best picture that honor was given by the foreign press to Slumdog Millionaire.
