SNL Relevant Again?

Has the clock turned back decades, when we woke up this morning there was story about Kayne West lip syncing on SNL. This is nothing new just ask Ashlee Simpson. The week before there was a skit about the blind Governor of New York David Paterson not appreciating the humor. We also watched for most of October we revealed in the portrayal of Sarah Palin by Tina Fey. The question is, has Saturday Night Live turned back into a show of relevancy? There is no John Belushi, Eddie Murphy, Dana Carvey, or even Michael Myers. There is no Chevy Chase or Dennis Miller doing weekend update. So how did it happen? The nation’s eyes are on Saturday Night Live again at a point when we thought it was almost over. When we found it was coming back for another season we though it was on life support and a holding spot for the UFC to take over. Then a funny thing happened on the way to the slaughter, the 2008 election. Since then SNL has found a way to make it to your eyeballs, they do it live, they reply on, they do primetime specials, and then on Monday or Tuesday the buzz from the show circles the Internet. Today the most modest man in rap music Kayne West was under attack from all sides by letting down his fans and the happy to see you fail public for lip syncing on the show. We did not see it live but it was available everywhere today and most of the office was talking about it.
