We cannot wait for this year to be over the only good thing was Guns N roses released Chinese Democracy, The Black Crowes resurfaced with new music, a rocker won American Idol, Terminator returned for another season. Politics wise it was horrible the White House continued a downward spiral, democrats won a Presidential Election, and bailout, bailout, bailout. The financial markets had a bad year, as did AIG, Lehman Brothers, and Stearns. Oil price went as high as $157 a barrel and then fell to around $40. Gas prices fell to the lowest prices in five years. We are saying goodbye to 2008 as the Dallas Cowboys lost a playoff game to start the year and finished out of the playoff to end it. The Celtics won their 17 world championship and the Red Sox were a game away from another world series. Overall it was another year in the books and as always we have high hopes for 2009 we hope this bring new things to our readers and the best of health, happiness and luck for the New Year to all.
We did 80% of our shopping this year online. There were only a handful of visits to the brick and mortar stores. We only shopped at three online vendors and 90% of that shopping was done at Amazon so today we find that we were not alone. Amazon.com called this holiday season the best ever reporting even a one day 17 percent increase in orders on its busiest day. Amazon customers ordered more than 6.3 million items on December 15. Then they claimed they shipped more than 5.6 million products on their busiest shipping day. Amazon biggest selling items included the Nintendo Wii, Samsung’s 52-inch LCD HDTV and Apple iTouch. We used them because of the price , selection, and being a prime shipping member they have two day shipping price that was short money. We can say every item was received on time, every order correct and all delivered by the 23rd day as the last order placed was on the December 20. It is funny because it was the first time we did all the shopping online and then to find out we are not ahead of the curve but riding the wave. This was by far the easiest shopping season we ever had and there was very little traffic, waiting in lines, and not getting the present we wanted. When we did go shopping on Christmas Eve it was almost fun because it was really the first time we had been shopping like cattle the whole season. New tradition is part of Christmas and online is the way to go.

Now the hectic part of the season is over. Now that you have taken care of everybody else, it is time to think about you. We were talking today about how great a condo rental panama city beach would be this summer. There is website out there that is letting reserve now. Plan you r vacation ahead of time you can mark the days off the calendar. This is a great way to get the long dark days ahead of winter. The website is rentalo.com and it is designed to impress as well as make you want to get away. The specials they are running right now are rock bottom and you can scroll through pages of great deals. When you need a vacation rental you can try all the big names, but this website has things they cannot offer. The listings include detailed information, like pricing by night, week or month, the feature many high quality photos from both inside and outside the property. How many times have you seen a photo of a resort that includes just the room and a front shot of the hotel? You arrive and it is next to a garbage heap, or the ocean they say is in walking distance is more like a cab ride. Everything is on the table and all the information is listed. You can even contact most places and ask your own questions. You can plan your vacation ahead of time and get the best rentals at the best rates.
We have some changes coming to Tea512. We will be launched three new sights for the beginning of the year. These are about bill paying, rip offs, and how to fix things. We also be adding categories to the Tea512 site and losing some of the links that produce nothing along the side bar. We hope to have all four sites completed and updated for the New Year. We will highlight on another as some of the needs of these sites will coexist. We thank you for your continued support and hope you find these other sites helpful. We are trying to split up some of the posting to more generalize what goes with what. Tea512 will always be the mother ship and a launching point for the other sites. We will keep you updated to the progress and hope to make all sites more interactive in 2009. We would like to start adding a question of the day, discount offers, and free giveaways, all of which has been on a drawing board over the last six months. The implementation will start shortly so stay tuned for the changes. 2009 in this space you will find a women of the week every Monday, American Idol weekly rant, and the other things we have been doing since we started. Get ready for New Year as 2009 as we hope it is going to busy, fun and productive for all.
We do not know if it is because of the day it fell on, or the fact we have over programmed ourselves into too much. This year Christmas fell on a Thursday. This was great for retail as they invented another shopping day for the day after the holiday. This day used to be reserved for people making returns, using gift cards, or just getting that gift you wanted that nobody bought you. We noticed over the last couple of years the trend of having holiday parties after the first of the year as with all there is to do it is one less thing to worry about as Christmas approaches. This year it feels like the never endings Christmas in our family we having or had parties on the December 13, 25, 28 and another we cannot even schedule because the parties cannot get a date on the same day. This one looks like it will be on January 10 or 17. There is something very corporate about exchanging gifts after the holiday. We will have to play it out to see if our feeling is correct. This will happen again next as Christmas will fall on a Friday next year. There is a lot to be said for not needing to get all done in one day, but we feel that maybe a one day approach is better than pretending a party in the middle of January is anything like Christmas.

There is new launch of a product called IP2Proxy IP-COUNTRY Anonymous Proxy List. You can use this product to find where a IP address that is visting your site, to tell you the location they are coming from. The company that has created this is an Internet R&D company, they provide software solutions, and services that help businesses to better understand their customers. There are the leading providers of IP address geolocation service; they have thousands of customers from different locations all over the world. The IP2Proxy uses a gigantic number of servers and posts scanning of all IP address ranges in parallel to detect servers. Then it can generate a proxy list every 24-hours which can keep you on top of all incoming traffic.
They have source code in every script language including perl, php, ruby and Java. They have been featured in eWeek magazine and the website is full of useful information about the product and the company. If you are new to Proxy servers, they are a wonderful advancement in technology. They were originally designed for use by companies to speed up web browsing for their employees. Today they have evolved into something a more useful for any computer user. A proxy server is simply another computer that accepts connections from the outside world and allows information to pass through it to you faster.
Well there is nothing that can be done. You have shopped until the last minute. There are no more places to go. The selection on the last day is poor, the stores are crowded and the traffic is obnoxious. The best part is the end when nothing else can be done. You always think you could have done more, you always wish there things you picked up when you saw them, and you promise you will start earlier next year. The best news is it is over, there nothing more that can be done except to sit back and enjoy the day. There is a peaceful calm to the world on Christmas morning. We are not sure if it that running around and endless things to do are over or if there is something to the peace and goodwill toward man. Whatever the reason we hope all have a happy and healthy Christmas Eve and day. We hope Santa fills your stocking with loot, we hope for all the readers a joyous and festive Christmas.
Has the clock turned back decades, when we woke up this morning there was story about Kayne West lip syncing on SNL. This is nothing new just ask Ashlee Simpson. The week before there was a skit about the blind Governor of New York David Paterson not appreciating the humor. We also watched for most of October we revealed in the portrayal of Sarah Palin by Tina Fey. The question is, has Saturday Night Live turned back into a show of relevancy? There is no John Belushi, Eddie Murphy, Dana Carvey, or even Michael Myers. There is no Chevy Chase or Dennis Miller doing weekend update. So how did it happen? The nation’s eyes are on Saturday Night Live again at a point when we thought it was almost over. When we found it was coming back for another season we though it was on life support and a holding spot for the UFC to take over. Then a funny thing happened on the way to the slaughter, the 2008 election. Since then SNL has found a way to make it to your eyeballs, they do it live, they reply on NBC.com, they do primetime specials, and then on Monday or Tuesday the buzz from the show circles the Internet. Today the most modest man in rap music Kayne West was under attack from all sides by letting down his fans and the happy to see you fail public for lip syncing on the show. We did not see it live but it was available everywhere today and most of the office was talking about it.

A judge declined to order Arkansas officials to expose which state computers were used to edit Wikipedia. These computers were used to change facts about Governors Mike Beebe and Mike Huckabee. Circuit Judge Marion Humphrey declined for reasons of security. The order was to disclosure of the physical locations of the five computers used to edit the profiles. Huckabee entry was changed to delete a controversial pardon and his use of a state-owned airplane. It is clear that when a Judge wants to hammer someone for misuse of a computer they side with major corporations. It is also clear that they will take the side of the state every time. When Sarah Palin email was hacked the FBI was involved, when you threaten a teenage friend of your daughter the police are involved. Each of these times the Judge used the Internet against the defendant. In this case the Judge is shielding the states computers from the same standards the rest of us are held to. The Judge was appointed but was it by Beebe or Huckabee but either way it seems he is in the hip pocket of the state on this one.

The RIAA has abandoned the policy of suing people for sharing songs on the Internet. They have not stopped but changed tactics as they will now use Internet service providers through warnings, if they do not comply they will be shut off. There is not report if the change is because the choice to sue almost 35,000 people since 2003 was effective. Those lawsuits usually were settled, most paying around $3,500. You would have to say using basic math there is no way the legal cost was even close to the settlement money the won. In typical tricky and sneaky fashion they would not say the Internet service providers they are working with. We are not sure what the number of illegal downloads is but legitimate sales of digital music tracks are up 28 percent from last year. Since they will not admit the program is flawed the yare keeping existing cases already filed moving forward. We feel based the abandonment of the program the courts may not be judging in their favor but jury is out so to speak. This has now become a two prong story to watch. The first will be what happened in existing lawsuits, and the other what services are sending out these warnings. It will not be long before we know which ISP are helping the RIAA and which are not. Can you imagine if you have RCN and Comcast in your town? You find out through a warning Comcast is watching what you do and reporting to the RIAA and whoever else, how fast people will then switch to RCN if they are not reporting the same information.
