New Money Draw for the Obama Cabinet

The cabinet express keeps on rolling today we find that Hillary Clinton should be almost a lock as secretary of state. The bigger information is we finally have a leak that says the president of the Federal Reserve Bank in New York is going to be your next Treasury Secretary. Timothy F. Geithner, this of course means Lawrence H. Summers will be passed over even though he has already done the job under Clinton as has been the president of Harvard University. The relationship is stranger as Summers has been an advisor to the transition team and gave Geithner his start in the Treasury. There has been pressure on Obama to name this position hopeful it will stable the markets. This also means the Summers could be available to replace Bernanke as Federal Reserve Chairmen whose term ends in 2010. The news was probably a relief to current Secretary Henry M. Paulson who like President Bush more than likely cannot wait to get out of town. Geithner was born in Brooklyn, New York City, attended Dartmouth College, graduating with a B.A. in government and Asian studies in 1983. After, he obtained an M.A. in International Economics and East Asian Studies from Johns Hopkins University’s Schoo of Advanced International Studies in 1985. Geithner worked for Kissinger and Associates for three years and then joined the International Affairs division of the U.S. Treasury Department in 1988. The report is he clicked with Obama as they are both 47 years old and shares the same low-key personalities.
