The rising cost of fuel has turned some US cities to look to weighs to cut costs. Instead of removing municipal employees, rights to take city owned vehicles home, and stop them from wasting the gas the city has paid for, to just go back and forth to work and Walmart. They must be more resourceful and creative, the town of Holly Springs, Georgia outside Atlanta came up with a good way to help offset the cost of police patrols. They are now adding a fuel surcharges to speeding tickets. The surcharge is twelve dollars for each moving violation. The idea is based on the fact the speeders are wasting fuel as the faster you drive the more gas you use. To catch a speeding car the police must catch the perpetrator and to do so they must speed. We believe at Tea512 the rising cost of fuel has to start a dialog of how there are things that can be done to help the situation. Does every city need this many pick up trucks for their Public works department? Do public figures need five car envoys to get from location to location? We under stand the safety reasons and the need public works vehicles, but for instant revenue shortfalls could there not be some cutting at the top. Rest assure that if this does not happen then the only way for a city to make up the shortfall is to—you guessed it, raise taxes.

You know things are tough all over when read something like this from the strip club Sinsations in Jacksonville, Florida. They are saying that because of the rising prices of gas, food, and travel it is having an effect on the adult entertainment industry. The first noticeable place is the lunch crowd, which now is down to patrons a day. Clubs in the area have had to lay off staff, cut prices, and even limit hours of operation. Sinsations income has dropped by roughly 35% in recent months. The dancers are reporting that their income has been slashed from around a thousand a week to a couple of hundred bucks. The clubs have even rasied the prices of the songs per dance. If you did not know, some clubs charge dancers per song. So you get a 4 song set for 100 dollars or 25 bucks a song. The dance can make that back by the third song and the fourth song is all gravy. In these times, the song charge has been raised to 35 dollars a song. Things are tough all over but you have to admit if you are someone who spent 100 dollars a month at one of these establishments it is a way to add back to your budget by moving these entertainment funds to other needs. The patrons that are not going will probably have to sit a home and watch porn on the computer or old VHS tapes. The things we must do when it get tough all over.
Tom and Katie (New) Homes
Friday, July 11th, 2008Here is some Friday fluff to get your weekend going Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are searching for a high-end Manhattan rental. She was last seen viewing a condominium at Trump Park Avenue, a duplex penthouse that has a $200,000-a-month nut. The unit at 502 Park Avenue is on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The place has a total 7,000 square feet of space including about 2,000 square feet of terraces. There are four bedrooms, six and half bathrooms, den, library, dining room, and eat-in kitchen. There are 20-foot ceilings, two staircases, and three large hanging chandeliers. The place has 360-degree views through its over 50 windows TomKat are moving to NYC because she will co-star in the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons” this fall. They should get a short-term lease as we hear that advanced ticket sales have not been what the box office expected. Does anybody need six plus bathrooms if there is only four bedrooms?
